Ink composition and recording method

Abstract

An ink composition which comprises: a dye which is represented by formula (1), which is described in the specification, and has at least one ionic hydrophilic group, wherein the dye has a molecular weight of from 310 to 500 per one ionic hydrophilic group, and a recording method which comprises: discharging ink droplets of the ink composition onto plain paper.

Claims

1. An ink composition which comprises: a dye which is represented by formula (1) and has at least one ionic hydrophilic group,wherein the dye has a molecular weight of from 310 to 500 per one ionic hydrophilic group:

2. The ink composition according to claim 1, wherein the dye occupies 10 mass % or more of total dyes in the ink composition.

3. The ink composition according to claim 1, wherein the ionic hydrophilic group is sulfo group or a salt thereof.

4. The ink composition according to claim 1, wherein the ionic hydrophilic group has lithium ion or sodium ion as a counter ion.

5. The ink composition according to claim 1, which further comprises a betaine surfactant.

6. The ink composition according to claim 1, which is for ink jet printing use.

7. A recording method which comprises: discharging ink droplets of an ink composition according to claim 1 onto plain paper.
