Claims
- 1. An ink jet recording apparatus for recording using an ink jet head having discharge means for discharging heated ink from said ink jet head, said apparatus comprising:temperature detecting means for detecting the temperature of the ink when said temperature detecting means is in contact with ink discharged from said ink jet head; control means for controlling said discharge means to deposit ink discharged from said ink jet head onto said temperature detecting means; and discharged condition detecting means for detecting whether or not ink has been discharged from said ink jet head by comparing a predetermined threshold value with a value representing the temperature detected by said temperature detecting means, wherein an ink absorbing member is provided in a neighborhood of said temperature detecting means, said ink absorbing member being provided at such a distance that a drop-like amount of ink deposited on a surface of the temperature detecting means is absorbed when it grows and is not larger than a predetermined size.
- 2. An ink jet recording apparatus for recording using an ink jet head having discharge means for discharging heated ink from said ink jet head, said apparatus comprising:temperature detecting means for detecting the temperature of the ink when said temperature detecting means is in contact with ink discharged from said ink jet head; control means for controlling said discharge means to deposit ink discharged from said ink jet head onto said temperature detecting means; and discharged condition detecting means for detecting whether or not ink has been discharged from said ink jet head by comparing a predetermined threshold value with a value representing the temperature detected by said temperature detecting means, wherein an ink absorbing member is provided in a neighborhood of said temperature detecting means such that the distance between said ink absorbing member and said temperature detecting means is 2 mm or less.
- 3. An ink jet recording apparatus according to claim 2, wherein a surface of said temperature detecting means has water repellency.
