Claims
- 1. A user interface for receiving input information comprising:
a first displayed region; and a second displayed region, wherein said first displayed region expands into said second region upon interaction with said first displayed region, and wherein ink and/or text entered into said second display region is input into said first displayed region.
- 2. The user interface according to claim 1, wherein said interaction with said first displayed region is a user hovering a stylus over said first displayed region.
- 3. A user interface for receiving input information comprising:
a first displayed region; and a second displayed region, wherein said second displayed region is displayed upon interaction with first displayed region, said second displayed region includes a third region to receive handwritten ink and/or a fourth region including a soft keypad, and wherein ink and/or text entered into said second display region is input into said first displayed region.
- 4. In a control, a process for providing input regions for receiving ink and or text comprising the steps of:
receiving user interaction with a first displayed region; generating a second displayed region; receiving ink and/or text in said second displayed region; placing at least one of ink and/or text in said first displayed region after closing said second region.
- 5. The process according to claim 4, wherein said second displayed region is an expanded version of said first displayed region.
- 6. The process according to claim 4, wherein said second displayed region includes a third region for receiving handwritten ink, and a fourth region displaying a soft keypad.
- 7. The process according to claim 4, further comprising the step of:
performing handwriting recognition on said ink received second displayed region, wherein said placing step includes placing text corresponding to said ink into said first displayed region.
- 8. A graphical user interface for receiving handwritten ink comprising:
a first region, said first region being selectable whether or not to receive handwritten ink.
- 9. A graphical user interface for receiving handwritten ink comprising:
a first region, said first region having selectable properties.
- 10. The graphical user interface according to claim 9, wherein at least one of said properties includes selectable properties, of which one of the selectable properties is a type of recognition mode.
- 11. The graphical user interface according to claim 9, wherein at least one of said properties includes specification of a user interface mode.
- 12. The graphical user interface according to claim 9, wherein at least one of said properties includes specification of a boxed input mode.
- 13. The graphical user interface according to claim 9, wherein at least one of said properties includes specification of how a second region will appear when activated.
- 14. The graphical user interface according to claim 13, wherein said second region is an expanding display.
- 15. The graphical user interface according to claim 13, wherein said second region is a combination of a handwriting receiving region and a soft keypad.
- 16. The user interface according to claim 1, wherein said ink and/or text entered into said second display region is input into said first displayed region upon the closure of said second to region.
- 17. The graphical user interface according to claim 9, wherein at least one of said properties includes selectable properties.
- 18. The graphical user interface according to claim 3, wherein said ink and/or text entered into said second display region is input into said first displayed region upon the closure of said second to region.
