- 2. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said head comprises electricity-heat converters for discharging ink through said port with heat energy.
- 3. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the ink is discharged through said port with a growth of bubbles due to film boiling caused by heat energy from electricity-heat converters.
- 4. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising head closing means movable between at least a closing position in which said port is closed and an opening position retracted from the closing position in which said port is opened, wherein said head closing means closes said port in the closing position for a longer time period than the time for allowing the discharge of ink through said port in the opening position in a recovery operation.
- 5. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a cap for covering said head and a pressing member for pressing against said port, wherein said cap and said pressing member can take at least three positions: (1) a position where said cap covers said head and said pressing member presses said port, (2) a position where said cap covers said head while said pressing member is retracted to open said port, and (3) a position where said cap is retracted from the capping position and said pressing member is retracted to open said port.
- 6. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising ink circulating means for circulating the ink through said tank, discharge port sealing means for sealing said port by tightly closing said port, said sealing means being used during operation of said ink circulating means, and recovery means for exhausting ink through said port, said recovery means being activated after a recovery operation by cooperation of said ink circulating means and said sealing means, wherein said recovery means includes a pressure mechanism using said feeding means.
- 7. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising recovery means operable in a recovery operation, wherein the recovery operation is characterized in that ink within said head is forced to move in one direction with said port being sealed by a sealing means.
- 8. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising recovery means operable in a recovery operation for said head, the recovery operation including a first recovery stroke in which ink within said head is forced to move in one direction with said port being sealed by a sealing means, and a second recovery stroke in which said port is opened and ink is discharged through said port from within said head.
- 9. An ink jet apparatus comprising:
- an ink jet head having a discharge port for discharging ink therethrough;
- an ink storing tank for storing ink to be supplied to said head;
- a first ink flow path for communicating said head with said tank, said first path having therein feeding means for feeding ink from said tank to said head and an ink filter between said head and said feeding means;
- a second ink flow path for communicating said head with said tank, said second path having therein back flow preventing means for preventing ink flow to said head, wherein said second ink flow path does not have therein an ink filter so that only said first ink flow path has therein said ink filter and;
- a third ink flow path for communicating said tank with an intermediate portion of said first path between said feeding means and said filter, said third ink flow path having therein second back flow preventing means for preventing ink from flowing to said tank,
- wherein said first path has therein third back flow preventing means for preventing ink flow in the direction away from said head, and
- wherein said third back flow preventing means in said first path is located between said feeding means and said connection of said third path to said first path.
- 10. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 9, wherein said head comprises electricity-heat converters for discharging ink through said port with heat energy.
- 11. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 9, wherein the ink is discharged through said port with a growth of bubbles due to film boiling caused by heat energy from electricity-heat converters.
- 12. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 9, further comprising head closing means movable between at least a closing position in which said port is closed and an opening position retracted from the closing position in which said port is opened, wherein said head closing means closes said port in the closing position for a longer time period than the time for allowing the discharge of ink through said port in the opening position in a recovery operation.
- 13. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 9, further comprising a cap for covering said head and a pressing member for pressing against said port, wherein said cap and said pressing member can take at least three positions: (1) a position where said cap covers said head and said pressing member presses said port, (2) a position where said cap covers said head while said pressing member is retracted to open said port, and (3) a position where said cap is retracted from the capping position and said pressing member is retracted to open said port.
- 14. An ink jet apparatus according to claim 9, further comprising ink circulating means for circulating the ink through said tank, discharge port sealing means for sealing said port by tightly closing said port, said sealing means being used during operation of said ink circulating means, and recovery means for exhausting ink through said port, said recovery means being activated after a recovery operation by cooperation of said ink circulating means and said sealing means, wherein said recovery means includes a pressure mechanism using said feeding means.
