Claims
- 1. An ink jet recording head comprising:
- an energy generating member for generating energy for discharging ink and a circuit electrically connected to said energy generating member, said energy generating member and said circuit being disposed on a substrate;
- an insulative layer formed on said energy generating member and said circuit; and
- a conductive protecting member formed above said energy generating member and said circuit on said insulative layer, said protecting member extending to all areas where the ink directly contacts the substrate, but not extending to portions of the substrate where the ink does not contact the substrate.
- 2. The ink jet recording head according to claim 1, wherein the area where said protecting member is formed is further determined in accordance with the thermal distribution of said energy generating member.
- 3. The recording head according to claim 1, wherein said protecting member is a Ta film.
- 4. An ink jet recording head according to claim 1, wherein only said insulative member and said protecting member are positioned in the area where the ink directly contacts the substrate.
- 5. An ink jet recording head comprising:
- energy generators for generating energy used to discharge ink;
- a circuit electrically connected to said energy generators;
- a substrate on which temperature sensors for detecting a temperature of said recording head or temperature-adjusting heaters for adjusting the temperature of said recording head are formed; and
- a conductive protective member disposed above said energy generators, said circuit, and an insulating layer of said substrate, wherein said temperature sensor or said temperature-adjusting heater is arranged to be offset from an area where said conductive protective member is formed, when viewed in a thickness direction of said substrate.
- 6. The ink jet recording head according to claim 5, wherein the area where said protective member is formed is further determined in accordance with the thermal distribution of said energy generators.
- 7. The recording head according to claim 5, wherein said protective member is a Ta film.
- 8. An ink jet recording apparatus comprising: an ink jet recording head having
- an energy generating member for generating energy for discharging ink and a circuit electrically connected to said energy generating member, said energy generating member and said circuit being disposed on a substrate;
- 9. The recording head according to claim 8, wherein said protective member is a Ta film.
- 10. The ink jet recording apparatus according to claim 8, wherein the area where said protective member is formed is further determined in accordance with the thermal distribution of said energy generators.
- 11. An ink jet recording apparatus comprising:
- an ink jet recording head having:
- energy generators for generating energy used to discharge ink;
- a circuit electrically connected to said energy generators;
- 12. The recording head according to claim 11, wherein said protective member is a Ta film.
- 13. The ink jet recording apparatus according to claim 8, wherein the area where said protective member is formed is further determined in accordance with the thermal distribution of said energy generators.
