Claims
- 1. An ink jet recording method for performing a recording operation with dots, each dot being formed at a pixel on a recording medium with ink ejected from a recording head, the recording head including a plurality of ejection ports, while scanning the recording head in a scanning direction, said method comprising the steps of:checking image data as to whether ejection data is present or not in each pixel of a two-dimensional arrangement comprising the scanning direction and a direction different from the scanning direction, the checking being performed one pixel by one pixel, in such a manner that the checking of each pixel is sequentially shifted in any direction of the scanning direction, the direction being different from the scanning direction, or a direction opposite to the direction different from the scanning direction; based on the image data checked in said checking step, for the pixel in which the ejection data is present, executing an assignment of an initial order of ejecting ink from the ejection ports, corresponding to the image data, to print a plurality of lines with the dots at pixels of the two-dimensional arrangement and executing, based on the image data checked in said checking step, an assignment of an order of a plurality of times of scanning the recording head for ink ejection when the recording operation is performed to print the plural lines with the dots formed by the plurality of times of scanning by the recording head, wherein the initial order of ejecting ink and the plurality of times of scanning are determined such that a plurality of dots of the plural lines are formed by ejecting the ink from the ejection ports, the ejection port ejecting the ink being determined in accordance with the order of the plurality of times of scanning, and a subsequent order of scanning to be effected for ink ejection for printing the lines with the dots is sequentially assigned in accordance with the initial order of scanning for dots to which an assignment has previously been executed for the image data, both on a specific line having the dots belonging thereto while the dots are arranged for printing the lines, and on corresponding rows of dots; performing the plural times of scanning with the recording head; and ejecting ink based on the ejection data of the image data to form the dots to which the order of scanning is assigned by ejecting the ink from the ejection ports.
- 2. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 1, wherein an odd-numbered line and an even-numbered line, as counted in a direction of arrangement of said lines, are combined with each other to create a set of lines, and dots located within a range defined by said set of lines, the dots being arranged adjacent to each other in the direction of arrangement of said lines, are formed by different scans.
- 3. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 2, wherein an even-numbered dot and a subsequent odd-numbered dot located on the odd-numbered line are formed in accordance with the order of scanning different from each other, and an odd-numbered dot and a subsequent even-numbered dot located on the even-numbered line are formed in accordance with an order of main scanning different from each other.
- 4. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 2, wherein two dots located adjacent to each other on each line of the plural lines are formed in accordance with the order of scanning different from each other.
- 5. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of said dots is formed by a plurality of ejections of the ink.
- 6. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the dots is formed by a number of ink droplets of the ink, the number of ink droplets being equal to or less than a predetermined number, and the ink droplets are ejected in accordance with the order of scanning different from each other.
- 7. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 6, wherein when a plurality of lines continuously extending in a direction of arrangement of the plural lines are combined with each other to create a set of lines and two dots located adjacent to each other in the direction of arrangement of the plural lines are formed within a range defined by the set of lines, one of the two dots or both of the two dots are formed by the predetermined number of ink droplets ejected in accordance with the order of scanning, the ink droplets and the order of scanning being different from each other in a combined state.
- 8. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 7, wherein the predetermined number defining the number of ink droplets ejected is coincident with one to a number of the plurality of times of scanning to be achieved.
- 9. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 8, wherein when dots located adjacent to each other in the direction of arrangement of said plural lines are formed, the dots located adjacent to each other are not formed by ink droplets simultaneously ejected.
- 10. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 1, said method further comprising the steps of:printing an image by ejecting ink from the recording head toward the recording medium to form the dots arranged in a matrix-shaped pattern; providing printing information corresponding to the image, including information relating to a location of the dots and an image density level; and printing the image in accordance with the printing information such that two dots are printed adjacent to each other in a row of dots extending in a first direction of the matrix-shaped pattern or in a second direction different from the first direction, and the two dots are printed with a time difference equal to or more than a predetermined time between printing a first dot and a second dot in accordance with the image density level of the printing information.
- 11. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 10, wherein a plurality of image density levels of the printing information are formed by a plurality of dot patterns different from each other.
- 12. An ink jet recording apparatus for performing a recording operation with dots each dot being formed at a pixel on a recording medium with ink ejected from a recording head, said recording head including a plurality of ejection ports, while scanning the recording head in a scanning direction, said apparatus comprising:a checking means for checking image data as to whether or not ejection data is present or not in each pixel of a two-dimensional arrangement comprising the scanning direction and a direction different from the scanning direction, the checking being performed one pixel by one pixel, in such a manner that the checking of each pixel is sequentially shifted in any direction of the scanning direction, the direction being different from the scanning direction, or a direction opposite to the direction different from the scanning direction; based on the image data checked by said checking means, for the pixel in which the ejection data is present, an assigning means for executing an assignment of an initial order of ejecting ink from the ejection ports, corresponding to the image data to print a plurality of lines with the dots at pixels of the two-dimensional arrangement and executing, based on the image data checked by said checking means, an assignment of an order of a plurality of times of scanning the recording head for ink ejection when the recording operation is performed to print the plural lines with the dots formed by the plurality of times of scanning by the recording head, wherein the assigning means executes the assignment of the initial order of ejecting ink and the scanning such that a plurality of dots for printing the plural lines are formed by ejecting the ink from the ejection ports, the ejection port ejecting the ink being determined in accordance with the order of the plurality of times of scanning, and a subsequent order of the scanning to be effected for ink ejection for printing the plural lines with the dots is sequentially assigned on a basis of an order of scanning for dots to which an assignment has been already achieved, in accordance with the image data, both on a specific line having the dots belonging thereto while the dots are arranged for printing the plural lines, and on a row of dots located in a direction of extension of the lines; a scanning means for performing the plural times of scanning with the recording head; and a recording/controlling means for controlling the recording head to eject ink based on the ejection data of the image data to form the dots to which the order of scanning is assigned by ejecting the ink from the ejection ports.
- 13. An ink jet recording apparatus for performing a recording operation with dots each dot being formed at a pixel on a recording medium with ink ejected from a recording head, said recording head including a plurality of ejection ports, while scanning the recording head in a scanning direction, said apparatus comprising:a checking means for checking image data as to whether or not ejection data is present or not in each pixel of a two-dimensional arrangement comprising the scanning direction and a direction different from the scanning direction, the checking being performed one pixel by one pixel, in such a manner that the checking of each pixel is sequentially shifted in any direction of the scanning direction, the direction being different from the scanning direction, or a direction opposite to the direction different from the scanning direction; based on the image data checked by said checking means, for the pixel in which the ejection data is present, an assigning means for executing an assignment of an initial order of ejecting ink from the ejection ports, corresponding to the image data, to print a plurality of lines with the dots at pixels of the two-dimensional arrangement and executing, based on the image data checked by said checking means, an assignment of an order of a plurality of times of scanning the recording head for ink ejection when the recording operation is performed to print the plural lines with the dots formed by the plurality of times of scanning by the recording head, wherein the assigning means executes the assignment of the initial order of ejecting ink and the scanning such that a plurality of dots for printing the plural lines are printed by ejecting the ink from the ejection ports, the ejection port ejecting the ink being determined in accordance with the order of the plurality of times of scanning, and a subsequent order of the scanning to be effected for ink ejection for printing the plural lines with the dots is sequentially assigned on a basis of an order of scanning for dots to which an assignment has been already achieved, in accordance with the image data, both on a specific line having the dots belonging thereto while the dots are arranged for printing the line, and on a row of dots located in a direction of extension of the plural lines; a scanning means for performing scanning with the recording head; a paper feed means for feeding the recording medium every time the scanning is performed; and a recording/controlling means for causing the recording head to eject ink based on the ejection data of the image data to form the dots to which the order of scanning is assigned by ejecting the ink from ejection ports, the ejection ports assuming the positions corresponding to the conveyance of the recording medium.
- 14. An ink jet recording apparatus as claimed in claim 13, wherein said recording head includes a heating means for generating a gas bubble in the ink by utilizing thermal energy, and as said gas bubble grows, said ink is ejected from said recording head.
- 15. An ink jet recording method of performing a recording operation by using a recording head, the recording head including a plurality of ejection ports, to record an image with dots formed at a pixel on a recording medium with ink ejected from the recording head in accordance with image data, said method comprising the steps of:checking image data as to whether ejection data is present or not in each pixel of a two-dimensional arrangement comprising a scanning direction and a direction different from the scanning direction, the checking being performed one pixel by one pixel, in such a manner that the checking of each pixel is sequentially shifted in any direction of the scanning direction, the direction being different from the scanning direction, or a direction opposite to the direction different from the scanning direction; based on the image data checked in said checking step, for the pixel in which the ejection data is present, assigning a scanning during which each dot is formed at a pixel of the two-dimensional arrangement among a plurality of times of scanning, the dots forming each of a plurality of lines of a predetermined area of the recording medium, in accordance with the two dimensional arrangement checked in said checking step; scanning the recording head over the plurality of lines the plurality of times in the scanning direction so that each line of the predetermined area may be formed with dots of inks being ejected from different ejection ports of the recording head during each time of scanning; and ejecting ink based on the ejection data of the image data to form the dots during the scannings during the plurality of times of scannings.
- 16. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 15, wherein said dot is formed by scanning the recording head one or two times.
- 17. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 16, wherein an odd-numbered line and an even-numbered line as counted in the auxiliary scanning direction are combined with each other to create a set of lines, and dots located within a range defined by said set of lines, the dots being adjacent to each other in the auxiliary scanning direction, are formed by different scans.
- 18. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 17, wherein an even-numbered dot and a subsequent odd-numbered dot located on said odd-numbered line are formed in accordance with the order of scannings different from each other, and an odd-numbered dot and a subsequent even-numbered dot located on said even-numbered line are formed in accordance with an order of main scannings different from each other.
- 19. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 17, wherein two dots located adjacent to each other on each line of said plural lines extending in the main scanning direction are formed by different scans.
- 20. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 16, wherein each of the dots is formed by a plurality of ejections of the ink.
- 21. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 16, wherein each of said dots is formed by a number of ink droplets of the ink, the number being equal to or less than a predetermined number, and said ink droplets are ejected by different scans.
- 22. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 21, wherein when a plurality of lines continuously extending in the auxiliary scanning direction are combined with each other to create a set of lines and two dots located adjacent to each other in the auxiliary scanning direction are formed within a range defined by said set of lines, one of said two dots or both of said two dots are formed by said predetermined number of ink droplets ejected in accordance with an order of scannings, the ink droplets and the order of scannings being different from each other.
- 23. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 22, wherein said predetermined number defining the number of ink droplets ejected is coincident with one to a number of said plural times of scannings to be achieved.
- 24. An ink jet recording method as claimed in claim 23, wherein when dots located adjacent to each other in the auxiliary scanning direction are formed, the dots located adjacent to each other are not formed by ink droplets simultaneously ejected.
