Claims
- 1. An ink-jet recording method comprising applying heat energy to a recording liquid and ejecting the recording liquid from a minute orifice in the form of droplets, said recording liquid comprising a pigment, a water-soluble resin, a water-soluble organic solvent, and water, wherein,
- of the water-soluble resin, water-soluble resin that is dissolved in the recording liquid without being absorbed on the pigment is contained in an amount of not more than 2% by weight; and
- the water-soluble organic solvent comprises (i) an aliphatic monohydric alcohol, and (ii) at least one of a polyhydric alcohol and an alkyl ether thereof.
- 2. An ink-jet recording method according to claim 1, wherein said aliphatic monohydric alcohol is ethyl alcohol.
- 3. An ink-jet recording method according to claim 1, wherein said aliphatic monohydric alcohol is contained in an amount ranging from 3 to 15% by weight.
- 4. An ink-jet recording method according to claim 1, wherein said water-soluble resin has an acid value of from 50 to 300.
- 5. An ink-jet recording method according to claim 1, wherein said water-soluble resin has an acid value of from 70 to 250.
- 6. A recording unit having an ink container for holding a recording liquid and a head portion for ejecting the recording liquid as liquid droplets, said recording liquid comprising a pigment, a water-soluble resin, a water-soluble organic solvent, and water, wherein,
- of the water-soluble resin, water-soluble resin that is dissolved in the recording liquid without being absorbed on the pigment is contained in an amount of not more than 2% by weight; and
- the water-soluble organic solvent comprises (i) an aliphatic monohydric alcohol, and (ii) at least one of a polyhydric alcohol and an alkyl ether thereof.
- 7. The recording unit of claim 6, wherein the head portion ejects liquid droplets by the action of thermal energy on the recording liquid.
- 8. The recording unit of claim 6, wherein the ink container comprises an ink absorption member.
- 9. The recording unit of claim 8, wherein the ink absorption member is formed from polyurethane.
- 10. An ink cartridge having an ink container for holding a recording liquid, said recording liquid comprising a pigment, a water-soluble resin, a water-soluble organic solvent, and water, wherein,
- of the water-soluble resin, water-soluble resin that is dissolved in the recording liquid without being absorbed on the pigment is contained in an amount of not more than 2% by weight; and
- the water-soluble organic solvent comprises (i) an aliphatic monohydric alcohol, and (ii) at least one of a polyhydric alcohol and an alkyl ether thereof.
- 11. The ink cartridge of claim 10, wherein the ink container is a bag structure.
- 12. The ink cartridge of claim 10, wherein the ink container has a liquid-contact face formed of polyolefin.
- 13. An ink-jet recording apparatus comprising a recording unit having an ink container for holding a recording liquid and a head portion for ejecting the recording liquid as liquid droplets, said recording liquid comprising a pigment, a water-soluble resin, a water-soluble organic solvent, and water, wherein,
- of the water-soluble resin, water-soluble resin that is dissolved in the recording liquid without being absorbed in the pigment is contained in an amount of not more than 2% by weight; and
- the water-soluble organic solvent comprises (i) an aliphatic monohydric alcohol, and (ii) at least one of a polyhydric alcohol and an alkyl ether thereof.
- 14. The ink-jet recording apparatus of claim 13, wherein the head portion ejects droplets by the action of thermal energy on the recording liquid.
- 15. The ink-jet recording apparatus of claim 13, wherein the ink container comprises an ink absorption member.
- 16. The ink-jet recording apparatus of claim 15, wherein the ink absorption member is formed from polyurethane.
- 17. An ink-jet recording apparatus comprising a recording head for ejecting the recording as liquid droplets, an ink cartridge having an ink container for holding a recording liquid, and an ink supplying portion for supplying the recording liquid to the recording head from the ink cartridge, said recording liquid comprising a pigment, a water-soluble resin, a water-soluble organic solvent, and water, wherein,
- of the water-soluble resin, water-soluble resin that is dissolved in the recording liquid without being absorbed on the pigment is contained in am amount of not more than 2% weight; and
- the water-soluble organic solvent comprises (i) an aliphatic monohydric alcohol, and (ii) at least one of a polyhydric alcohol and an alkyl ether thereof.
- 18. The ink-jet recording apparatus of claim 17, wherein the recording head ejects liquid droplets by the action of thermal energy on the recording liquid.
- 19. The ink-jut recording apparatus of claim 17, wherein the ink container is a bag structure.
- 20. The ink-jet recording apparatus of claim 17, wherein the ink container has a liquid-contact face formed of polyolefin.
