Claims
- 1. A recording process comprising the step of ejecting ink from an orifice in accordance with a recording signal to make a record on a recording medium, said ink comprising a dye and a liquid medium, wherein said dye is a dye of Formula (I): ##STR7## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent independently an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or an acetylamino group; R.sub.3 represents --SO.sub.3 M or a hydrogen atom; R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom, --SO.sub.3 M or --NHR.sub.5, where R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom, a phenyl group that may have a substituent, or a group of the formula ##STR8## where R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 represent independently a hydrogen atom or --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OH; M represents an alkali metal, an ammonium group or an organic ammonium group; and l, m and n represent independently an integer of 0 or 1, wherein said dye is contained in an amount ranging from 0.1 to 15% by weight based on the total weight of the ink, and wherein said liquid medium comprises a water-soluble organic solvent and water.
- 2. The recording process according to claim 1, wherein said recording is carried out in an ink-jet recording system.
- 3. The recording process according to claim 2, wherein said ink-jet recording system is a system in which heat energy is applied to the ink and ink droplets are ejected from minute openings.
- 4. The recording process according to claim 1, wherein said recording medium is a recording medium having on a surface thereof an ink-receiving layer comprising a pigment and a binder.
- 5. An ink jet device comprising an ink storing member impregnated with an ink comprising a dye that is contained in an amount ranging from 0.1 to 15% by weight based on the total weight of the ink, and a liquid medium that comprises a water-soluble organic solvent and water, wherein said dye is a dye of Formula (I): ##STR9## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent independently an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or an acetylamino group; R.sub.3 represents --SO.sub.3 M or a hydrogen atom; R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom, --SO.sub.3 M or --NHR.sub.5, where R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom, a phenyl group that may have a substituent, or a group of the formula: ##STR10## where R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 represent independently a hydrogen atom or --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OH; M represents an alkali metal, an ammonium group or an organic ammonium group; and l, m and n represent independently an integer of 0 or 1; and
- a head having a plurality of orifices for discharging said ink as ink droplets.
- 6. An ink jet device according to claim 5, wherein said ink storing member is an ink absorber or an ink bag.
- 7. An ink jet device according to claim 5, wherein said head has a heating head to provide to said ink a heat energy for discharging ink droplets.
- 8. An ink jet device according to claim 5, wherein said water-soluble organic solvent is contained in an amount ranging from 2 to 80% by weight based on the total weight of the ink.
- 9. An ink jet device according to claim 5, wherein said water is contained in an amount of at least 35% by weight based on the total weight of the ink.
- 10. An ink jet recording apparatus comprising an ink jet device comprising an ink storing member impregnated with an ink comprising a dye that is contained in an amount ranging from 0.1 to 15% by weight based on the total weight of the ink and a liquid medium that comprises a water-soluble organic solvent and water, wherein said dye is a dye of Formula (I): ##STR11## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent independently an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or an acetylamino group; R.sub.3 represents --SO.sub.3 M or a hydrogen atom; R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom, --SO.sub.3 M or --NHR.sub.5, where R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom, a phenyl group that may have a substituent, or a group of the formula: ##STR12## where R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 represent independently a hydrogen atom or --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OH; M represents an alkali metal, an ammonium group or an organic ammonium group; and l, m and n represent independently an integer of 0 or 1; and
- a head having a plurality of orifices for discharging said ink as ink droplets.
- 11. An ink jet recording apparatus according to claim 10, wherein said ink storing member is an ink absorber or an ink bag.
- 12. An ink jet recording apparatus according to claim 10, wherein said head has a heating head to provide to said ink a heat energy for discharging ink droplets.
- 13. An ink jet recording apparatus according to claim 10, wherein said water-soluble organic solvent is contained in an amount ranging from 2 to 80% by weight based on the total weight of the ink.
- 14. An ink jet recording apparatus according to claim 10, wherein said water is contained in an amount of at least 35% by weight based on the total weight of the ink.
- 15. An ink cartridge comprising an ink bag impregnated with an ink comprising a dye that is contained in an amount ranging from 0.1 to 15% by weight based on the total weight of the ink and a liquid medium that comprises a water-soluble organic solvent and water, wherein said dye is a dye of Formula (I): ##STR13## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent independently an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or an acetylamino group; R.sub.3 represents --SO.sub.3 M or a hydrogen atom; R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom, --SO.sub.3 M or --NHR.sub.5, where R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom, a phenyl group that may have a substituent, or a group of the formula ##STR14## where R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 represent independently a hydrogen atom or --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OH; M represents an alkali metal, an ammonium group or an organic ammonium group; and l, m and n represent independently an integer of 0 or 1.
- 16. The ink cartridge according to claim 15, wherein said water-soluble organic solvent is contained in an amount ranging from 2 to 80% by weight based on the total weight of the ink.
- 17. The ink cartridge according to claim 15, wherein said water is contained in an amount of at least 35% by weight based on the total weight of the ink.
