1. Technical Field
The present invention relates to an inner package and, particularly, to an inner package of a packing box for receiving a camera, a mobile phone, or a personal digital assistant (PDA), and so on, therein.
2. Description of the Related Art
Packing boxes are commonly used to protect fragile items during delivery. Typically, a packing box receives an inner package to allow packing of items side by side with lateral support and separation between adjacent items. The inner package is usually made from folded corrugated cardboard and designed to have several containing sections for receiving the items. However, the inner package has a complicated structure and the manufacturing of the inner package is difficult. Furthermore, a large amount of material is discarded during manufacturing of the inner package, thereby leading to increased cost per unit.
What is needed, therefore, is an inner package for a packing box, which has a simple structure and is easy to be manufactured at low cost.
In accordance with a present embodiment, an inner package includes several containing sections. Each containing section is folded to include a bottom board and several side boards connected with the bottom board. The inner package is rectangular when unfolded.
Other advantages and novel features will be drawn from the following detailed description of preferred embodiments, when considered in conjunction with the attached drawings.
Many aspects of the present inner package can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present inner package. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
Embodiments of the present inner package will now be described in detail below and with reference to the drawings.

The first containing section 10 includes a first bottom board 101 and four side boards, including a first side board 102A, a second side board 102B, a third side board 102C, and a fourth side board 102D.
One edge of the first side board 102A, the second side board 102B, the third side board 103C, and the fourth side board 102D are connected to the border of the first bottom board 101. The first side board 102A and the third side board 102C are disposed oppositely, and the second side board 102B and the fourth side board 102D are disposed oppositely. Besides, the four side boards 102A, 102B, 102C, 102D each connect with the first bottom board 101 by a folding line. The detailed structure of the first containing section 10 is described in the following.
The first side board 102A extends up from a top edge of the first bottom board 101 with a second folding line 103B defined therebetween. A first connecting board 104A extends leftward from a left end of the first side board 102A with a third folding line 103C defined therebetween. A second connecting board 104B extends rightward from a right end of the first side board 102A with a fourth folding line 103D defined therebetween. A first engaging groove 1041A is defined in an upper left corner of the first connecting board 104A. The first engaging groove 1041A extends downwards from a top edge of the first connecting board 104A. A second engaging groove 1041B is defined in a lower right corner of the second connecting board 104B. The second engaging groove 1041B extends upwards from a bottom edge of the second connecting board 104B.
The second side board 102B extends leftwards from a left edge of the first bottom board 101 with a fifth folding line 103E defined therebetween. A top edge of the second side board 102B neighbors a bottom edge of the first connecting board 104A. A cushion board 108 extends leftwards from a left edge of the second side board 102B. Two spaced sixth folding lines 103F are defined between the cushion board 108 and the second side board 102B.
The third side board 102C downwards extends from a bottom edge of the first bottom board 101 with a seventh folding line 103G defined therebetween. A third connecting board 104C leftward extends from a left end of the third side board 102C with an eighth folding line 103H defined therebetween. A top edge of the third connecting board 104C neighbors to a bottom edge of the second side board 102B. A fourth connecting board 104D rightward extends from a right end of the third side board 102C with a ninth folding line 103I defined therebetween. A third engaging groove 1041C is defined in an upper left corner of the third connecting board 104C. The third engaging groove 1041C extends downwards from a top edge of the third connecting board 104c. A fourth engaging groove 1041D is defined in a lower right corner of the third connecting board 104D. The fourth engaging groove 1041D extends upwards from a bottom edge of the fourth connecting board 104D.
The fourth side board 102D rightwards extends from a right edge of the first bottom board 10l with a tenth folding line 103J defined therebetween. A top edge of the fourth side board 102D neighbors to a bottom edge of the second connecting board 104B, and a bottom edge of the fourth side board 102D neighbors to a top edge of the fourth connecting board 104D. The fourth side board 102D connects with the second containing section 20 by the first folding lines 103A.
The second section 20 includes a second bottom board 201, a fifth side board 102E and a sixth side board 102F. The fifth side board 102E connects with the fourth side board 102D by the first folding lines 103A. The fifth side board 102E connects with a left edge of the second bottom board 201 by an eleventh folding line 103K. The sixth side board 102F connects with a right edge of the second bottom board 201 by a twelfth folding line 103L.
Referring to
Sequentially, the cushion board 108 is bent outwardly and downwardly along the sixth folding lines 103F to be substantially parallel to the second side board 102B. The fifth side board 102E is folded outwardly and downwardly along the first folding lines 103A to be substantially parallel to the fourth side board 102D. Then the second bottom board 201 is bent relative to the fifth side board 102E along the eleventh folding line 103K to be substantially parallel to the first bottom board 101. Finally, the sixth side board 102F is folded upwardly to be perpendicular to the second bottom board 201. As a result, the three-dimensional inner package as shown in
As described above, the inner package is formed from corrugated cardboard and has a simple structure, and the manufacturing of the inner package is easy. Furthermore, the inner package is unfolded as a rectangular board, and the bottom boards 101, 201 and the side boards 102A, 102B, 102C, 102D, 102E, 102F share a same boundary with the rectangular board. Only a very small amount of material is discarded to form the engaging grooves 1041A, 1041B, 1041C, 1041D. Thus, the inner package can be manufactured at low cost.
Additionally, a semicircular cutout 109 is defined in the top edge of the first side board 102A. The presence of the semicircular cutout 109 facilitates convenient removal of items from the inner package.
It will be understood that the above particular embodiments and methods are shown and described by way of illustration only. The principles and features of the present invention may be employed in various and numerous embodiments thereof without departing from the scope of the invention as claimed. The above-described embodiments illustrate the scope of the invention but do not restrict the scope of the invention.
