Claims
- 1. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion comprising a water phase and an active ingredient phase which are normally separate, with distinct delineation between the same, said phases being capable of transitory intermixture upon agitation, there being a dispersal agent consisting of cocodiethanolamide in an amount within the range of 0.1 to 10% by weight of the preparation, said cocodiehanolamide being an amber liquid having a congealing point of approximately 6 degrees C., a specific gravity at 25 degrees C. of about 0.99, containing a maximum of about 3-4 percent free or unreacted fatty acid (as lauric acid) and having a pH value of 8-9 as a one percent dispersion in water, being soluble in alcohols, glycols, ketones, esters, aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents, and also being dispersible in water at low cconcentration of 1% to 2%, said active ingredient phase comprising an insecticidal agent selected from the class consisting of pyrethroids, carbamates, organo-phosphates, and combinations thereof in a quantity sufficient to exterminate the particular preselected prey, said dispersion having a pH within the range of approximately 6.5 to 7.5.
- 2. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined in claim 1 wherein the water content may constitute as much as 99.85% by weight of the preparation and the active ingredient may be within a range the lower limit of which is 0.05%.
- 3. An insecticided preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined in claim 2 wherein the active ingredient is water insoluble.
- 4. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined in claim 1 wherein the preparation is an aerosol containing a propellant from the class consisting of compressed gases, liquefied compressed gases and combinations of the same, there being a solvent compatible with said propellant.
- 5. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined in claim 1 wherein the preparation is an aerosol and comprises a propellant from the class consisting of liquefied hydrocarbons and halocarbons and combinations thereof, and being within a range of 2.5% to 30% by weight of the preparation, there being a solvent compatible with said propellant within the range of approximately 1% to 20% by weight of the preparation, and with the balance of said preparation being water.
- 6. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined in claim 1 wherein the preparation is an aerosol and comprises a compressed gas as a propellant and being within a range of 0.1% to 5% by weight of the preparation, there being a solvent compatible with said propellant within the range of approximately 0% to 20% by weight of the preparation, and with the balance of said preparation being water.
- 7. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined in claim 1 wherein the preparation is an aerosol and comprises a combination of a compressed gas or gases and liquefied compressed gas or gases as a propellant, with the liquefied compressed gas being within the range of 2% to 30% and the compressed gas being within the range of 0.1% to 5% by weight of the preparation, there being solvents compatible with the propellant, said solvents constituting approximately 1% to 20% by weight of the preparation, and with the balance of said preparation being water.
- 8. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined in claim 1 wherein the insecticidal agent is also from the class consisting of liquids and powders.
- 9. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined in claim 1 wherein the cocodiethanolamide has a solubility in each of said phases.
- 10. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined in claim 1, wherein the insecticidal agent is selected from the class consisting of neutral and synthetic pyrethroids and combinations thereof, said insecticide preparation further comprising a synergistic agent in combination with the selected pyrethroid or pyrethroids.
- 11. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined in claim 1 wherein the insecticidal agent is a carbamate and combinations thereof.
- 12. An insecticide preparation in the form of a dispersion as defined on claim 1 wherein the insecticidal agent is an organo-phosphate and combinations thereof.
