Claims
- 1. A method for use in indexing, in a database, data associated with a domain-specific event, the method comprising the steps of:
processing sensor data captured in accordance with the event in real time; obtaining pre-existing data associated with the domain-specific event; and indexing data associated with the domain-specific event in the database, substantially concurrent with its capture, based on at least a portion of the processed real time sensor data and at least a portion of the obtained pre-existing data.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein processing of the sensor data comprises generating at least one of object location information and object activity information.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein generation of the at least one of object location information and object activity information comprises generating one or more object motion trajectories based on a real time tracking technique.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the pre-existing data associated with the domain-specific event comprises one or more of hierarchy information, sensor parameter information, object information, landmark information, and an environmental model.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the data stored in the database is only relevant portions of the data.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein indices are derived from real time analysis of at least a portion of the sensor data.
- 7. The method of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the data is indexed in a relational data structure associated with the database.
- 8. The method of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the data is indexed in a spatio-temporal data structure associated with the database.
- 9. The method of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the indexed data from the database may be visualized substantially concurrent with its capture.
- 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the data is multimedia data.
- 11. The method of claim 1, wherein data associated with the domain-specific event is retrievable from the database substantially concurrent with its capture.
- 12. Apparatus for use in indexing, in a database, data associated with a domain-specific event, the apparatus comprising:
at least one processor operative to: (i) process sensor data captured in accordance with the event in real time; (ii) obtain pre-existing data associated with the domain-specific event; and (iii) index data associated with the domain-specific event in the database, substantially concurrent with its capture, based on at least a portion of the processed real time sensor data and at least a portion of the obtained pre-existing data.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein processing of the sensor data comprises generating at least one of object location information and object activity information.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein generation of the at least one of object location information and object activity information comprises generating one or more object motion trajectories based on a real time tracking technique.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the pre-existing data associated with the domain-specific event comprises one or more of hierarchy information, sensor parameter information, object information, landmark information, and an environmental model.
- 16. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the data stored in the database is only relevant portions of the data.
- 17. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein indices are derived from real time analysis of at least a portion of the sensor data.
- 18. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein at least a portion of the data is indexed in a relational data structure associated with the database.
- 19. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein at least a portion of the data is indexed in a spatio-temporal data structure associated with the database.
- 20. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein at least a portion of the indexed data from the database may be visualized substantially concurrent with its capture.
- 21. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the data is multimedia data.
- 22. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein data associated with the domain-specific event is retrievable from the database substantially concurrent with its capture.
- 23. A database system, comprising:
at least one processor operative to: (i) process sensor data captured in accordance with a domain-specific event in real time; (ii) obtain pre-existing data associated with the domain-specific event; and (iii) index data associated with the domain-specific event, substantially concurrent with its capture, based on at least a portion of the processed real time sensor data and at least a portion of the obtained pre-existing data; and a database structure, coupled to the at least one processor, for storing the data in accordance with the indexing operation.
- 24. An article of manufacture for use in indexing, in a database, data associated with a domain-specific event, the article comprising a machine readable medium containing one or more programs which when executed implement the steps of:
processing sensor data captured in accordance with the event in real time; obtaining pre-existing data associated with the domain-specific event; and indexing data associated with the domain-specific event in the database, substantially concurrent with its capture, based on at least a portion of the processed real time sensor data and at least a portion of the obtained pre-existing data.
- 25. The article of claim 24, wherein data associated with the domain-specific event is retrievable from the database substantially concurrent with its capture.
