Claims
- 1. A guide system for guiding a probe into the carpal tunnel of a patient, wherein said probe is carried by handle means, said guide system comprising:
- (a) an elongated leg member supported by said handle means for engaging a finger of the patient's hand, and
- (b) a vertical edge guide member supported by said handle means for engaging the edge of the patient's hand;
- wherein said guide member is adapted to maintain lateral alignment of said probe with respect to the carpal tunnel of said patient; and
- (c) means for holding said probe in alignment with the carpal tunnel of a patient's hand.
- 2. A guide system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said leg member comprises a U-shaped bar for engaging a flexed finger of the patient's hand.
- 3. A guide system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said edge guide member comprises a planar plate member.
- 4. A guide system in accordance with claim 1, further comprising a transverse arm member having a first end attached to said handle means; wherein said edge guide member is carried on said arm member.
- 5. A guide system in accordance with claim 4, wherein said edge guide member is laterally adjustable on said transverse arm member.
