Claims
- 1. An insulated stock material comprising:a base layer; an insulating layer formed on at least a portion of at least one surface of said base layer; and a control means provided on at least a portion of a surface of said insulating layer opposed to said base layer for limiting an expansion of said insulating layer, wherein substantially all of said insulating layer is in an expanded condition and said control means physically limits a degree of expansion of said insulating over said portion of said surface of said insulating layer on which said control means is provided.
- 2. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 1, wherein said insulating layer is a thermoplastic synthetic resin film.
- 3. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 2, wherein said control means is a printed pattern.
- 4. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 3, wherein said printed pattern is formed of multicolors.
- 5. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 3, wherein the stock material is heat treated to expand said thermoplastic synthetic resin film.
- 6. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 5, wherein said expansion of said thermoplastic synthetic resin is controlled by a thickness of said printed pattern.
- 7. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 6, wherein the thickness of said printed pattern is varied over the surface of said insulating layer.
- 8. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 1, wherein said base layer is a paper base layer.
- 9. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 1, wherein said base layer is a paperboard base layer.
- 10. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 9, wherein a moisture content of said paperboard base layer is at least approximately 2%.
- 11. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 10, wherein said moisture content is approximately 2% to approximately 10%.
- 12. Insulated stock material comprising:a base layer; an insulating layer applied to at least a portion of at least one surface of said base layer; and an expansion limiting layer applied to at least a portion of a surface of said insulating layer opposed to said base layer for limiting an expansion of said insulating layer, wherein substantially all of said insulating layer is in an expanded condition and said expansion limiting layer physically limits a degree of expansion of said insulating over said portion of said surface of said insulating layer on which said control means is applied.
- 13. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 12, wherein said insulating layer is a thermoplastic synthetic resin film.
- 14. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 13, wherein said limiting layer is a printed pattern.
- 15. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 14, wherein said printed pattern is formed of multicolors.
- 16. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 14, wherein the stock material is heat treated to expand said thermoplastic synthetic resin film.
- 17. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 16, wherein said expansion of said thermoplastic synthetic resin is controlled by a thickness of said printed pattern.
- 18. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 17, wherein the thickness of said printed pattern is varied over the outer surface of said insulating layer.
- 19. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 12, wherein said base layer is a paper base layer.
- 20. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 12, wherein said base layer is a paperboard base layer.
- 21. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 20, wherein a moisture content of said paperboard base layer is at least approximately 2%.
- 22. The insulated stock material as defined in claim 21, wherein said moisture content is approximately 2% to approximately 10%.
