a third port configured to receive signals from a voice over digital subscriber line (VoDSL).
- 4. The platform of claim 1, wherein the second port is configured to receive a VoDSL signal.
- 5. The platform of claim 1, further comprising an interface card, the first port and the second port configured on the interface card.
- 6. The platform of claim 1, further comprising a first interface card and a second interface card, the first port and the second port configured on the first interface card and the second interface card, respectively.
- 7. The platform of claim 1, wherein the second port is configured to receive video over DSL.
- 8. The platform of claim 1, wherein the external networks includes a network selected from the group consisting of an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) network, the Internet, a public switched telephone network (PSTN) and an Internet service provider.
- 9. The method of claim 1, wherein the controller system includes a first controller and a second controller, the second controller performing functions redundant to the first controller.
- 10. The platform of claim 9, wherein each of the first controller and the second controller includes a set of interfaces between the interface port, the interfaces include an RS232 interface, an Ethernet connection, a DS1 interface and a DS3 interface.
- 11. The platform of claim 1, further comprising:
a ring and battery (RBT) system connected to the first port through a talk battery connection and a ring bus, RBT system including redundant cards.
- 12. The platform of claim 11, further comprising:
an alarm display and test (ADT) system connecting to the second port and the first port.
- 13. The platform of claim 1, further comprising:
redundant broadband ATM buses configured to receive ADSL signals from the second port and configured to provide the ADSL signals to the controller system.
- 14. The platform of claim 1, further comprising:
redundant narrowband TDM buses configured to receive POTS signals from the first port and configured to provide POTS signals to the controller system.
- 15. The platform of claim 14, wherein the redundant narrowband TDM buses receive channelized VoDSL (CVoDSL) signals from the second port.
- 16. The method of claim 12, further comprising:
redundant maintenance buses configured to connect to the controller system, the RBT system, the ADT system, the first port and the second port.
- 17. The method of claim 16, further comprising:
an inventory bus configured to connect to the controller system, the RBT system, the ADT system, the first port and the second port.
- 18. The method of claim 1, further comprising:
a local craft terminal, the local craft terminal including a personal computer with an Internet web browser and a graphical user interface for controlling and monitoring the platform.
- 19. An integrated access platform comprising:
a housing configured to receive interface cards, the interface cards including a POTS card, an ADSL card, and a POTS/ADSL card; a controller system, configured to process signals received from the interface cards, for accessing one or more networks; an ATM bus connecting the ADSL card to the controller system; a TDM bus connecting the POTS card to the controller system; and an interface card connecting the controller system to external networks.
- 20. A management system, comprising:
a graphical user interface to manage an integrated access platform, the integrated access platform adapted to receive narrowband signals and broadband signals for access to external networks, the GUI allows a user to perform operations, administration and maintenance tasks on the platform.
- 21. A method of integrating narrowband and wideband signals, comprising:
receiving POTS signals at a platform; receiving ADSL signals at the platform; and processing the POTS signal and the ADSL signal for access with external networks, the external networks including a PSTN, an ATM network and the Internet.
