Claims
- 1. An integrated surgical staple retainer of a FTRD, comprising:a calibrating portion defining a circular opening, the circular opening having a diameter substantially equal to a diameter of a working channel of the FTRD; and a retaining portion having a surface adapted to limit movement of the surgical staples held in the FTRD, the retaining portion being adjacent to the calibrating portion; and a grasping portion adjacent to the retaining portion.
- 2. The integrated surgical staple retainer according to claim 1, further comprising:a positioning element disposed on the retaining portion, the positioning element holding the integrated surgical staple retainer in position relative to the FTRD.
- 3. The integrated surgical staple retainer according to claim 1, wherein the positioning element comprises a plurality of protrusions.
- 4. The integrated surgical staple retainer according to claim 1, wherein the calibrating portion is adapted to be placed in a cavity formed by a head assembly of the FTRD.
- 5. The integrated surgical staple retainer according to claim 1, wherein the retaining portion is adapted to be placed between a proximal housing and an anvil member of the FTRD.
- 6. The integrated surgical staple retainer according to claim 5, wherein the retaining portion is adapted to be placed between staple slits of a proximal housing of the FTRD and staple forming grooves of an anvil member of the FTRD.
- 7. The surgical integrated surgical staple retainer according to claim 1, wherein the retaining portion is adapted to immobilize the staples held in the FTRD.
