Description
FILED

This disclosure relates to an interchangeable eyelash extension palette and storage box system. More particularly, an eyelash extension palette with interchangeable inserts that are stored magnetically inside of the storage box on shelves and then moved to the palette where the interchangeable inserts are held in place magnetically when in use.

BACKGROUND

Eyelash extensions are typically comprised of synthetic or natural fibers, either as an individual strand or as a fan consisting of more than one strand configured to be adhered to a single natural lash. Eyelash extensions come in different lengths, colors, curls, and thicknesses. Eyelash extensions are often used to enhance natural lashes, giving the appearance of longer, thicker and fuller lashes.

Eyelash extensions are typically stored on palettes, trays, or in storage containers made of different materials such as acrylics, resin, tile, stone, plastics, glass or the like. The eyelash extension palettes are often comprised of a single, solid material, where the eyelash extension strips are placed. The adhesive backing on each eyelash extension strip secures the strip to the flat surface of the palette.

However, after the eyelash extension strips are adhered to the conventional eyelash extension palette, it may be difficult to remove the eyelash extension strip from the palette without tearing and subsequently damaging the strip. With many different eyelash extension sizes, colors and curls, the difficulty of removing the strips from the palette may result in the use of many palettes to hold all of the different types of eyelash extensions being used for different clients. Accordingly, a long-felt need exists for an interchangeable eyelash extension palette and storage box system that is able to both store the inserts in the storage box and use the inserts interchangeably on the working palette.

SUMMARY

In various embodiments, an eyelash extension storage box may include the palette, storage shelves and inserts that sit both in the shelves inside the storage box and in the eyelash extension palette. The palette may be fitted to slide into the front of the storage box, creating a fully-enclosed storage cube. The inserts may magnetically attach to the palette and/or to the shelves housed inside the storage box. Each insert may have an attachment device to hold it into place in the storage box and on the palette, wherein the attachment device may be magnetic, snapping, hooking, clicking, etc. The inserts may hold the strips of eyelash extensions on the flat surface of the inserts, attached via tape, adhesive backing, etc. In various embodiments, the insert may include divots or holes, for the purpose of holding drops of eyelash extension glue or adhesive. The inserts may vary from the standard design and may be comprised of alternative surfaces such as, for example, curved, etched or printed patterns, insets or embossing, or altering the shape or other design attributes of the insert entirely.

In various embodiments, the storage box may contain shelves, each for the purpose of holding the inserts in a fixed storage position. The shelves may be suspended across the storage box, with separators between each of the insert slots. In various embodiments, magnets may be located in inset holes in the shelf allowing the inserts with their protruding magnets to attach securely in place. The storage box may contain a built-in shelf, inset on the floor of the storage box. This allows for maximum storage capacity inside the storage box and the shelf is integrally a part of the storage box structure. In various embodiments, the remainder of the shelves (which are not built in) may be individually affixed to the internal walls of the storage box using, for example, a notched, tongue and groove method, or any other suitable means, as part of the storage box assembly.

In various embodiments, the palette may be equipped with magnets which are glued or embedded into designated holes, enabling the inserts to be securely held in place. The palette may offer multiple attachment options, such as clicking, snapping, sliding, hooking, etc. In various embodiments, a depression may exist on one or both sides of the face of the palette, allowing for case of removal of the inserts. In various embodiments, the palette may have divider walls between each of the insert slots (similar to the shelves inside the storage box) retaining each insert securely in its proper place. In various embodiments, the bottom of the palette may include, for example, magnets, silicone, ridges, textures or any other means of providing grip to the underside of the palette. These may prevent the palette from sliding around on different surfaces. This may also help the palette stay inside the storage box when in the stored position and also when out of the storage box and especially when in use. The palette may be of any size and may be designed to attach to a hand, finger, or wrist. The palette may also be fastened to any other means of support including for example, to a pole or stand.

In various embodiments, the storage box may converge with the palette to hold it in place, therefore using the palette as a lid or means of closing the storage box. The palette and storage box may converge by means of, for example, hinging, sliding, clipping, snapping, hooking, etc. The palette and storage box are not limited to the inter-dependent design. The storage box may have other means of closure such as, for example, a hinge, snap, clasp, lock, etc. The palette can also be used, stored or covered without involvement of the storage box. Each of the internal shelves may include a separator (e.g., a wall) to retain each insert to face the desired direction and in its desired place. The walls may also provide a divider between each insert to keep them separated so they don't cling or magnetize to each other, ensuring the eyelash extension strips are not damaged. The palette and storage box may contain various types of lights for the purpose of illuminating the lashes for better visibility inside the storage box or UV lights to sanitize the lashes.
