The present invention features an interchangeable plush toy and storage assembly. In some embodiments, the assembly comprises a pillow having a first attachment means, and a storage component having a second attachment means. In some embodiments, the pillow and storage component are temporarily joined via the first and second attachment means to form the interchangeable plush toy and storage assembly.
The interchangeable plush toy and storage assembly may be enjoyed in various ways. For example, a user (e.g., a child) can carry the pillow as a handbag or a back pack. The user can also enjoy the pillow by cuddling up with it. When the pillow is not being used, the pillow may be temporarily attached to the storage component to form, for example, an entire animal for visual enjoyment. The storage component may be situated on a dresser for storage of various accessories. Parents may also employ the pillow as a harness for a child.
Any feature or combination of features described herein are included within the scope of the present invention provided that the features included in any such combination are not mutually inconsistent as will be apparent from the context, this specification, and the knowledge of one of ordinary skill in the art. Additional advantages and aspects of the present invention are apparent in the following detailed description and claims.
The present invention features an interchangeable plush toy and storage assembly 10. In some embodiments, the assembly 10 comprises a pillow 20 having a first attachment means 22, and a storage component 30 having a second attachment means 32. In some embodiments, the pillow 20 and storage component 30 are temporarily joined via the first 22 and second 32 attachment means to form the interchangeable plush toy and storage assembly 10. The first and second attachment means include complementing magnets, hook-and-loop, buttons, snaps, clips, and the like.
In some embodiments, the pillow 20 comprises a head of a character. In some embodiments, the character may be that of an animal such as a monkey, bear, dog, etc. In some embodiments, the character may be that of a popular children personality, such as Dora, Pluto, Mickey Mouse, etc.
In some embodiments, the pillow 20 further comprises one or more storage spaces, for example pockets, for storage. In some embodiments, the storage spaces (e.g., pockets) are covered by a lid (e.g., a removable lid, a partially attached lid). In some embodiments the storage space can be sealed via an attachment means, for example a hook-and-loop fastener, a zipper, a snap, a button, a clip, the like, or a combination thereof. In some embodiments, the lid is part of the pillow 20. In some embodiments, the storage space is in a form of a drawer. In some embodiments, the storage space has one or more leaflets that are sized to fit and secure digital disk recordings, such as DVDs, CDs, etc.

In some embodiments, the front surface 26 comprises facial features (e.g., eyes, nose, etc.) of a character; the back surface 28 is on the opposite side of the front surface, and the side surface 29 is at where the front and the back surface meet. An example of a front surface 26 of a pillow 20 is shown in
As viewed from the back surface 28, the quadrants are formed from a first imaginary line that divides the pillow into a left half (first and third quadrant) and a right half (second and fourth quadrant), and a second imaginary line that divides the pillow into a top half (first and second quadrant) and a bottom half (third and fourth quadrant). In some embodiments, the left half has the same volume space as that of the right half. In some embodiments, the top half has the same volume space as that of the bottom half. The volume space is the volume inside the pillow 20. In some embodiments, each quadrant has about the same surface area when looking from the front 26 or back side 28 of the pillow. As used herein, the term “about” means plus or minus 10% of a reference number.
In some embodiments, the pillow 20 further has one or more strap attachment means 50 disposed in a quadrant. A strap 52 may be secured to the pillow 20 via one or more of the attachment means 50. The strap attachment means 50 for attaching a strap includes loop-and-clamp, buttons, hook-and-loop, and the like. For example, the attachment means disposed on the pillow 20 may be a loop or a D-ring sewn to the pillow, and the complementing attachment means on the strap may be a clip secured to an end of the strap, wherein the clip can clip onto the D-ring.
In some embodiments, one end of a first strap 52 is attached to the pillow 20 via a strap attachment means 50 disposed in the first quadrant 40, and another end of the first strap is attached to the pillow via another strap attachment means that is disposed in the second quadrant 42, wherein the first strap 52 functions as a carrying handle for the pillow. See for example
In some embodiments, one end of a first strap 52 is attached to the pillow via a strap attachment means 50 disposed in the first quadrant 40, and another end of the first strap 52 is attached to the pillow 20 via another strap attachment means 50 that is disposed in the third quadrant 54. Further, one end of a second strap 52 is attached to the pillow 20 via a strap attachment means 50 disposed in the second quadrant 42, and another end of the second strap 54 is attached to the pillow 20 via another strap attachment means 50 that is disposed in the fourth quadrant 46, wherein the first 52 and second 54 straps function as back pack style straps. See for example
In some embodiments, one end of a first strap 52 is attached to the pillow 20 via a strap attachment means 50 disposed in the first quadrant 40, and another end of the first strap 52 is attached to the pillow 20 via another strap attachment means that is disposed in the fourth quadrant 46. Further, one end of a second strap 54 is attached to the pillow 20 via a strap attachment means 50 disposed in the second quadrant 42, and another end of the second strap 54 is attached to the pillow 20 via another strap attachment means 50 that is disposed in the third quadrant 44, wherein the first and second straps crisscross and function as harness straps.
