- a switching matrix comprised of a plurality of analog switching means operatively connected to said first and second piezo transducer means;
- bridge amplifier means having an input and an output;
- said plurality of analog switching means operatively connecting said first piezo transducer means to the input of said bridge amplifier means and operatively connecting said second piezo transducer means to the output of said bridge amplifier means, the bridge amplifier means enabling the second piezo transducer means to be driven by twice a system voltage while only impressing the system voltage through any one of said plurality of analog switching means; and
- TALK switching means operatively connected to said switching matrix for operatively reversing the connection between said plurality of analog switching means and said first and second piezo transducer means, wherein upon actuation of the TALK switching means said first piezo transducer means is operatively connected to the output of said bridge amplifier means and said second piezo transducer means is operatively connected to the input of said bridge amplifier means.
- 2. The invention according to claim 1 and further including power switching means for connecting a system voltage to the electronic intercommunication system, and shut-off timer means operatively connected to said power switching means and to the system voltage for turning off the power switching means upon termination of a pre-determined time period.
- 3. The invention according to claim 2 and further including doorbell switch means for resetting said shut-off timer means.
- 4. The invention according to claim 3 and further including oscillator means connected to said doorbell switch means for generating an audible signal to said bridge amplifier means to send an alert signal that said doorbell switch means has been actuated.
- 5. An electronic intercommunication system for communicating through a door/partition, said system comprising:
- first and second housing means, each said housing means containing electronic circuitry means and piezo transducer means, and
- first and second support means, said first support means arranged between said first housing means and said door/partition, and said second support means arranged between said second housing means and said door/partition, wherein said first and second support means respectively support said first and second housing means to the door/partition to dampen vibration produced by said piezo transducer means to enable greater signal amplitude without oscillatory feedback.
- 6. An electronic intercommunication system for communicating through a partition, said system comprising:
- piezo transducer devices on each side of said partition, each piezo transducer having a nodal diameter; and
- sheet materials on each side of said partition for sealing said system against deleterious substances; each said sheet material having a hole with a diameter approximately equal to the nodal diameter of each of said piezo transducer devices, each said piezo transducer device being attached to one of said sheet materials across said hole, wherein said sheet materials act as a diaphragm for said piezo transducer devices, to increase the sound output and efficiency of the respective piezo transducer device.
- 7. The invention according to claim 5, wherein said first and second support means are comprised of one or more poly-vinyl foam pads.
- 8. The invention according to claim 7, wherein said foam pads are respectively arranged on said first and second housing means in a triangular configuration.
- 9. The invention according to claim 6, wherein said sheet materials form an extended resonating surface for said piezo transducer devices.
- 10. The invention according to claim 7, wherein said sheet materials attach to said piezo transducer devices by an adhesive.
- 11. An electronic intercommunication system for communicating through a partition, said system comprising:
- a pair of housing means supportable on opposite sides of said partition;
- a pair of piezo transducer devices having a nodal diameter and housed respectively within one of said housing means; and
- a pair of sheet members for respectively sealing said pair of housing means against deleterious substances; each said sheet member having a hole with a diameter approximately equal to the nodal diameter of each of said piezo transducer devices, each said piezo transducer device being attached to one of said sheet members across said hole, wherein said sheet members act as a diaphragm for said piezo transducer devices to increase the sound output and efficiency of the respective piezo transducer device, and said sheet members include an adhesive backing to respectively hold said piezo transducer device in place with reference to said respective housing means.
