Claims
- 1. An ionomer resin comprising an ethylene methacrylic copolymer and a polyamine cross-linked with said copolymer, said polyamine being a compound of the formula: ##STR12## wherein M is nitrogen, CR, phenyl or cycloalkyl having 5 to 8 carbon atoms and R is hydrogen, alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms, a lower alkyl amine, or cycloalkyl having 5 to 8 carbon atoms, R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each alkyl groups of 1-4 carbon atoms.
- 2. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is tris-(2-aminoethyl)amine.
- 3. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is tris-(3-aminopropyl)amine.
- 4. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is tris-(3-aminopropyl)methane.
- 5. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is 1, 2, 4-tri(3-aminopropyl)benzene.
- 6. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is 1, 2, 4-tri(2-aminoethyl)cyclohexane.
- 7. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is Tetra(2-aminoethyl)tetrahydro dicyclopentane.
- 8. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is 1, 2, 3-tri-(3-aminopropyl)propane.
- 9. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is Tetrakis(2-aminoethyl)ethane.
- 10. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is Tetrakis(2-aminoethyl)methane.
- 11. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is 1, 2, 3, 4-Tetra(2-aminoethyl)butane.
- 12. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said polyamine is N, N, N', N'-tetra(2-aminoethyl)ethylene diamine.
- 13. The ionomer resin of claim 1 wherein said iononer resin is partially neutralized with a cation.
- 14. The ionomer resin of claim 13 wherein said cation is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal, aluminum and zinc.
- 15. The ionomer resin of claim 14 wherein said cation is sodium.
- 16. The ionomer resin of claim 13 wherein said ionomer resin is partially neutralized with a sodium and zinc salt.
- 17. The ionomer resin of claim 13 wherein said ionomer is partially neutralized with an ammonium salt.
