Abstract
The present invention comprises a device and system for providing mobile communication hardware to play a word puzzle game in an iPhone. The present invention is a puzzle game in English words. Characters of English words that form the puzzle are listed at the bottom of the game board, with a geometric shape next to the corresponding shape. The challenge is to find all words on the board. When the Player find a word in matching geometrical shape by touching all the correct character of the word, soon the word vanishes off the screen and the player will win the game.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention belongs to the field of mobile entertainment devices and systems of mobile phone games, and more particularly to a word puzzle game, Words that form the puzzle are listed at the bottom of the game board, with a geometric shape next to the corresponding shape. Player needs to find the word on the game board by following the geometric shape as a hint and wins by correctly arranging words.


BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The advent of computers, video game machines, and gaming stations has caused children to spend more time playing electronic games. Adventure and action electronic games are particularly popular with children.


It is often the case that children prefer to play these adventure and action games instead of studying subjects such as math, spelling, grammar, etc. This may be because these subjects are often presented in a dry and boring way. Thus, a way is needed to leverage the popularity of adventure and action electronic games to interest children in learning academic subjects.


Recently, portable game machines have sprung into widespread use, with which one can enjoy playing video games without being limited by place or time. Some recent portable electronic devices such as portable telephone sets, PHS (Personal Handy-phone System), electronic notebooks, and notebook personal computers have a game function in addition to the functions that the electronic devices originally have. Portable game machines and these electronic devices are small and transportable, so that the user can use these devices at various places.


Many conventional games are designed to be played on mobile gaming devices that have limited or not network connectivity. While some mobile gaming devices may communicate with other local gaming devices, they typically cannot communicate over broader networks (e.g., Internet, etc.). As such, their features and gaming experience is limited to the gaming device platform. Consequently, a way is needed to expand the gaming features beyond gaming device platforms.


Accordingly, improvements are needed in the existing methods and structures that negate the above shortcomings in the existing systems.


The relevant prior art methods, which will deal with a software game application of an iPhone, are as follows:


U.S. Pat. No. 6,524,189 describes a multi-player game system using a mobile telephone and a game unit is disclosed. The present invention links multiple users having game units with mobile phones using a low power radio link. The present invention includes at least one mobile phone having a first transceiver for providing connections to a cellular network and a second transceiver for providing short-haul connectivity, and a plurality of game units for interfacing with a plurality of players, each of the game units having a third transceiver for providing short-haul connectivity, wherein the mobile phones and the game units are linked by the second and third transceivers therein to enable a game to be played on the game units by the plurality of players. In at least one of the mobile phones, the second transceiver is a short range wireless transceiver. At least one mobile phone is used to download a game to the game units and the game units include a group selection interface for choosing players to include in a gaming group. The mobile phones may be linked to a base station, a game server and a network interconnecting the base station and the game server, wherein the game server provides a game across the network and base station to the mobile phones for play on the game units.


U.S. Pat. No. 4,232,865 disclose a game has at least one radiation emitter for manipulation by a player and a mobile target carrying a sensing means responsive to receive radiation, the target being moved in response to sensed radiation. In one embodiment there are two sensors each responsive to the radiation emitted by an individual radiation emitter controlled by an individual player. In another embodiment, the mobile target normally moves in a circular path and is responsive to sensed radiation to move in a tangential line of travel for a predetermined time. The mobile target may be provided with two sensors which, through control circuitry, cause the target to travel different predetermined distances dependent on which sensor receives radiation.


U.S. Pat. No. 4,352,497 provides mobile game play goals in form of tether balls with various types of tether anchors, depending on types of playing surface and game field pattern. The mobile goals are employed in various field patterns for novel football (soccer) play whereby competing teams try to kick a free football (soccer ball) against their mobile goal for a score. The invention describes four different field patterns for mobile goals and associated game play. Tether ropes can range from 1 to 5 yds (mts) in length. Tether anchors can be in form of stake or inverted “U” pin for soft playing surface, and in form of a weighted disc for impenetrable playing surface such as concrete, asphalt, or wood. An optional form of mobile goals uses two tether balls connected by a tether from 2 to 10 yds (mts) in length, thus providing a free-to-move (non-anchored) pair of goals which can be used in novel game play. Subject goals are portable, economical, vandal-proof, versatile in set-up on various playing surfaces, suitable for small playing areas, require no field markings, and provide ideal means for football (soccer) competition or practice.


U.S. Pat. No. 4,516,777 claims a mobile self-contained video gaming system. The system internally stores a plurality of standard video game cartridges simultaneously and provides instantaneous external user selection of any game cartridge without power sequencing of the console electronics or physical extraction/insertion of the cartridges. The system includes a video monitor for viewing either color or monochrome game images, a video game console electronics unit, a cartridge storage and switching apparatus, a plurality of video game cartridges, multiple hand-held game controllers for providing player control inputs to the console electronics, audio separator and amplification circuits, a choice of speaker or earphone audio devices, an externally activated and lockable power switch, an audio device selector to disable conventional speaker use in “quiet” environments. The system is enclosed in a mobile housing which includes a height adjustment mechanism and a power cord take-up apparatus.


U.S. Pat. No. 5,275,401, details a game comprising a board on which figurines can be moved along longitudinal paths by driving mechanisms arranged below the board. The driving mechanisms each comprise at least one handle and connectors for joining the handle to the figurines. The game comprises at least 2 sets of driving mechanisms which can be moved along a longitudinal axis of the board by means of the handles. The handles, which project outwardly from sides of a frame on which the board is mounted, can be moved longitudinally along the frame within slots within the frame sides over a distance equal to about half the frame length.


U.S. Pat. No. 6,527,641 provides a system and a method for the customization of an interactive game based on mobile station activity. The interactive game is played in a virtual space using a wireless mobile station as a user interface. The game is tracked and controlled using a game center and a game server. The game server executes a software application that runs a game center. A command set is provided for each state within the game. The choice of a command from the command set changes the game state. Games are designed to be customizable based on, for example, current location of the mobile station, call usage on the mobile station, or wireless services utilized by the mobile station.


U.S. Pat. No. 6,650,892 describes a mobile apparatus includes a cellular telephone and a subscriber identification module (“SIM”). SIMs includes an interpreter written in a computer language. A game program, which is written in the same computer language, is loaded into the memory of the SIM and is interpreted by the SIM's interpreter. The game program is then executed by the cellular telephone so that the game can be played.


U.S. Pat. No. 6,733,392 discloses a Progression of a game executed at a mobile terminal is changed in response to the radio wave reception intensity of radio signals received by the mobile terminal. During the course of the progression of a game, enemy characters to combat, items to be generated, and the branching of the game scenario are controlled in accordance with the received signal intensity.


U.S. Pat. No. 6,756,882 claims a method (400) and a controller (210) for providing a location-based game associated with a plurality of mobile stations (170) are described herein. The controller (210) may determine a plurality of game parameters based on user input from one of a plurality of players. The plurality of game parameters may include, but is not limited to, a game area (500) having a plurality of activation locations (505). The controller (210) may determine location associated with at least one of the plurality of mobile stations (164). In response to one of the plurality of mobile stations (164) being within a proximity threshold (535) associated with one of the plurality of activation locations (530), the controller (210) may activate a game feature within one of the plurality of mobile stations (164). Accordingly, the controller (210) may provide a point value to one of the plurality of players in response to a trigger event associated with the game feature.


U.S. Pat. No. 6,761,638 details the Progression of a game executed at a mobile terminal is changed in response to the current location of the mobile terminal. A portable telephone set receives a control signal transmitted via radio from a base station controlling the radio area in which the portable telephone set is currently located. Then, the received control signal is demodulated to detect the base station ID code, which is in turn stored in an ID code storage area. The update processing of the base station ID code is successively carried out during the waiting time and a latest base station ID code is stored in the ID code storage area. Then, in the course of the progression of game, enemy characters to combat, items to be generated, and the branching of the game scenario are controlled in accordance with the value of the base station ID code stored in the ID code storage area.


U.S. Pat. No. 6,868,280 claims a method of changing an alphabetic character to a variant character when entering information or messages in a mobile phone or a game console or the like. The variant character can be a diacritical variation or a tonal variation of the alphabetic character. After an alphabetic character is entered and displayed on a display device, the star key in the keypad can be used to replace the displayed alphabetic character with a desired one of the variants.


U.S. Pat. No. 7,088,692 describes an apparatus, and an associated method, rewards a user for playing computer games at a mobile terminal. Computer games, or other recreational applications, formed of executable code at a mobile terminal are executed by a user. When success indicia associated with playing the computer game, such as a game score, exceeds a selected threshold, a message is formed and sent to an award server. The award server is operable to authorize a reward for the user of the mobile terminal.


U.S. Pat. No. 7,379,739 provides a mobile communication terminal includes a wireless communication device for wireless communication, an image displaying device for displaying an image, and a sound outputting device for outputting sound. The mobile communication terminal generates an execution variable that changes progression of a game being played by a user of the mobile communication terminal, through the mobile communication terminal, the execution variable being calculated based, at least in part, on incoming communications history data. The incoming communications history data lists data characterizing each of a number of previous incoming communications to the wireless communication device. The terminal executes the game using the generated execution variable.


U.S. Pat. No. 7,457,583 describes a baseball game spectating method is composed of input means (score maker system) such as a mobile terminal capable of electronically inputting states of a baseball game successively, the step of successively inputting motions of players and the other information using the input terminal and transmitting their real-time data, filming means for filming the states of the baseball game, the step of encoding and transmitting the states of the baseball game, means for digitizing the input data and recorded image and sound data, a recording medium such as a data server for storing the digitized real-time data therein, a recording medium such as an image server for storing the digitized image therein, a recording medium such as a sound server for storing the digitized sounds therein, a mobile net system such as PDC or/and PHS and gateway and Internet for converting protocol, and a mobile terminal such as a cellular phone with high function and high performance.


U.S. Pat. No. 7,415,711 details a system and method for a transport independent gaming API for mobile devices. The gaming API allows for a multi-player gaming session between mobile devices where the transport protocol between the mobile devices may be switched transparently to both the user and the game application. The gaming API is switched according to which transport protocol is determined as the optimal protocol for transmitting game data according to specified parameters.


However the purpose and methodology of all the above inventions that are part of prior art do not envisage the unique embodiment of use of software game application in an iPhone with a geometric shape to find an English word puzzle.


Thus it is clear that it is desirable to provide a system of word puzzle game application in iPhone in a better enhanced way. The present invention overcomes these and other problems by providing software game application in an iPhone.


Further it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the objects of this invention have been achieved by providing a software application game in an iPhone which consists of a English dictionary words that forms as a puzzle word game with a geometrical shape which is unique in nature unlike existing mobile puzzle game that are suited only for limited purposes. Various changes may be made in and without departing from the concept of the invention. Further, features of some stages disclosed in this application may be employed with features of other stages. Therefore, the scope of the invention is to be determined by the terminology, and the legal equivalents thereof.


SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This present invention may be summarized, at least in part, with reference to its objects.


The foremost objective of this invention is to provide a system of word puzzle game application in an iPhone.


Another objective of this invention is to entertain an iPhone user by providing a word puzzle game with geometrical shapes.


Another objective of this invention is to educate the user of an iPhone with a simple word puzzle game.


Another objective of this invention is to assure that users in all age groups can play and find entertaining the word puzzle game.


Another objective of this invention is to provide a useful learning device through a word puzzle game which help the user to learn different words.


Another objective of this invention is to provide a user friendly game application in an iPhone.


These and other objects and advantages and features of the present invention will be more readily apparent when considered in reference to the following description.


In accordance with the foregoing, the invention comprises a software application game in an iPhone more particularly with English words in geometrical shapes which forms a word puzzle. As per the invention words that form the puzzle are listed at the bottom of the game board, with a geometric shape next to the corresponding shape. The player connects the letter of word to form the geometrical shape that is next to the word and the Player has to find a word in matching geometrical shape. When the player touches all the correct character of the word, the words vanish off the display and the player will win the game.


Additional objects and embodiments of the invention will be set forth in part in the description which follows, and in part will become apparent to those skilled in the art upon examination of the following, or may be learned by practice of the invention. These and other objects and advantages and features of the present invention will be more readily apparent when considered in reference to the following description and when taken in conjunction below.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following description is presented to enable any person skilled in the art to make and use the invention, and is provided in the context of particular applications of the invention and their requirements. The present invention can be configured as follows:


The present invention as shown in FIG. 1 is a novel device and system of an iPhone Application Game, which include the hardware to play a word puzzle game with the formation of English dictionary words in an iPhone and the said words and geometric shapes are places in the display. The points (corners) of the geometrical shape where the letters are placed in the iPhone. The program lists the words on a scrollable menu at the bottom of the game board. Further the present invention include various shapes such as right angle triangle, square, rectangular, pentagonal, and hexagonal are placed in the corner of the screen. The said shapes can be mirror images or upside down. When the iPhone touches the correct corners of the word, the word disappear from the board.


As depicted in FIG. 1, the words that form the puzzle are listed at the bottom of the game board, with a geometric shape next to the matching shape. The Player of the iPhone game has a target to find the word on the game board by following the geometric shape as a clue to win the game. As shown in FIG. 2, when the player unite the letter of the word to form the geometrical shape that is next to the word puzzle. Thereby the Player will find a word in matching geometrical shape. When the player touches all the correct character of the word in the board which is in a geometrical shape, the said word vanishes off the display. Subsequently all words disappear from the game board the said player will win the game and the time limit which is used for find the word will appear and the best time will be exhibit on the game board.


The device and system of the present invention may be implemented in the form of a mobile game application running on an iPhone or a computer system such as a mainframe, personal computer (PC), handheld computer, server etc. The computer system may be linked to a database or various types of storage media. The hardware includes a main server containing all the English dictionary words and geometric shapes, processing and control circuitry such as microprocessor and or a Digital Signal Processors that executes sequences of instructions. The hardware may further include a central processing unit (CPU), a graphics processing unit (CPU), or both. Moreover, the hardware can include a main memory and a static memory that can communicate with each other. The said instructions may be stored in a chip memory or by other means. The hardware can also include a disk drive unit, a signal generation device, such as a speaker or remote control, and a network interface device. The present invention may be connected to the other units by hard-wired circuitry or by a combination of hard-wired circuitry with software.


According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method includes a Computer system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a processor and a program storage device readable by the computer system, embodying a program of instructions executable by the processor to perform process steps for a mobile game application in an iPhone.


In another embodiment of this invention the method further includes the system to find word from the English dictionary and place them on the grid in various geometrical shapes.


In another embodiment of this invention the method further includes the system whereby words are listed on a scrollable menu at the bottom of the puzzle game board.


In another embodiment of this invention the method further includes various shapes such as right angle triangle, square, rectangular, pentagonal, and hexagonal are placed in the corner of the screen.


In another embodiment of this invention the method further includes the shapes that can be mirror images or upside down. When user touches the correct corners of the word, the word disappear from the board.

Thus various modifications to the disclosed embodiments will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art and the general principles defined herein may be applied to other embodiments and applications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.


Further it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the objects of this invention have been achieved by providing the above invention. However various changes may be made in the structure of the invention without departing from the concept of the invention. Therefore, the scope of the invention is to be determined by the terminology of the above description and the legal equivalents thereof.


Various modifications to the disclosed embodiments will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art and the general principles defined herein may be applied to other embodiments and applications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Thus, the present invention is not intended to be limited to the embodiments shown, but is to be accorded the widest scope consistent with the principles and features disclosed herein.

Claims
  • 1. A device for the use of a game application in an iPhone comprising of a main server, processing and control circuitry central processing unit (CPU), a graphics processing unit (CPU), a main memory unit, a static memory unit, a disk drive unit, a signal generation device, a network interface device and a hardware display unit including but not limited to an iPhone or a computer system characterized in that said server database contains all the English dictionary words and geometric shapes.
  • 2. A device for the use of a game application in an iPhone as claimed in claim 1 and system thereof wherein said words are listed on a scrollable menu at the bottom of the game board on said display unit.
  • 3. A device for the use of a game application in an iPhone as claimed in claim 1 and system thereof wherein said geometric shapes includes right angle triangle, square, rectangular, pentagonal, and hexagonal shapes placed in the corner of the game board on said display unit.
  • 4. A device for the use of a game application in an iPhone as claimed in claim 1 and system thereof wherein said words that form the puzzle are listed at the bottom of the game board on said display unit, with a said geometric shape next to said word.
  • 5. A device for the use of a game application in an iPhone as claimed in claim 1 and system thereof wherein the letters of said word in said scrollable menu will be found on the points (corners) of said geometrical shape.
  • 6. A device for the use of a game application in an iPhone as claimed in claim 1 and system thereof wherein a player unites the letters of said word on said scrollable menu on the points (corners) of said geometrical shape, to form a geometrical shape that matches said geometrical shape displayed in the corner of the game board on said display unit.
  • 7. A device for the use of a game application in an iPhone as claimed in claim 1 and system thereof wherein a player on touching all the correct characters of the said word on said scrollable menu, vanishes said word off the game board on said display unit.
  • 8. A device for the use of a game application in an iPhone as claimed in claim 1 and system thereof wherein all said words listed at the bottom of the game board can be identified by using said geometric shape and all said words will vanish off the game board on said display unit, the player winning the game if completed within a prescribed time limit.
  • 9. A device for the use of a game application in an iPhone as claimed in claim 1 and system thereof wherein said geometric shapes can be mirror images or upside down.
