Claims
- 1. An automatic playing device for automatic accompaniment, comprising: storing means for storing sequence data comprising musical sound data and control data that identifies a musical sound data interval to be repeated and that includes, for the musical sound data interval, a finite or an infinite iteration count; processing means for processing the control data and the musical sound data to generate sound by repeatedly reading out the musical sound data interval the number of times specified by the iteration count that is included in the control data stored in the storing means; and instructing means for interrupting the repeated reading of the musical sound data interval and initiating the reading of the succeeding sequential musical sound data.
- 2. An automatic playing device according to claim 1; wherein said storing means is one of a read-only memory and a random access memory.
- 3. An automatic playing device according to claim 1; wherein said processing means includes a CPU, and a musical sound generating block which reads out sequence data from said storing means under control of said CPU and generates musical sound by repeatedly reading musical sound data in an area specified by control data included in said sequence data and providing the data to said musical sound generating block.
- 4. An automatic playing device according to claim 1; including controlling means for ending the repeated reading out by the processing means and for shifting the processing means to the next accompaniment part in response to the initiating from the instructing means to read the succeeding sequential musical sound data.
- 5. An automatic playing device according to claim 1; wherein the instructing means includes means for performing the interrupting and initiating in response to manipulation of an operation terminal.
- 6. An automatic playing device according to claim 5; wherein the operation terminal comprises a foot switch.
- 7. An automatic playing device according to claim 1; wherein said controlling means includes a CPU for recognizing an instruction to shift to and read an accompaniment part to be played from said instructing means, terminating an operation of said processing means to repeatedly read out musical sound data stored in said storing means, and controlling system operation to read out the next sequence data.
- 8. An iteration controlling automatic playing apparatus, comprising:
- playing sequence storage means for storing sequence data comprising tone data and control data that identifies a tone data interval to be repeated and that includes, for said tone data interval, a finite or infinite iteration count;
- repeating means for repeatedly reading said tone data interval the number of times specified by said iteration count that is included in said control data stored in said playing sequence storage means; and
- repeat releasing means for interrupting the repeated reading of said tone data interval and initiating the reading of the succeeding sequential tone data.
- 9. An apparatus according to claim 8; wherein said playing sequence storage means includes one of a read-only memory and a random access memory.
- 10. An apparatus according to claim 8; wherein said repeating means includes a CPU, and a tone generating block for reading out sequence data from said storage means under control of said CPU and generating tones by repeatedly reading tone data in an area specified by control data included in said sequence data and providing the data to said tone generating block.
- 11. An apparatus according to claim 8; including control means for ending said repeated reading by said repeating means and for shifting the repeating means to the next accompaniment part in response to the initiating from said repeat releasing means to read the succeeding sequential tone data.
- 12. An apparatus according to claim 8; wherein the repeat releasing means includes means for performing the interrupting and initiating in response to manipulation of an operation terminal.
- 13. An apparatus according to claim 12; wherein said operation terminal comprises a foot switch.
- 14. An apparatus according to claim 1; wherein said control means includes a CPU for recognizing an instruction to shift to and read an accompaniment part to be played from said repeat releasing means, terminating an operation of said repeating means to repeatedly read out tone data stored in said playing sequence storage means, and controlling system operation to read out the next sequence data.
