Abstract
The “JDC 6 INCH TO 8 INCH DRIP PAN AND HEATING ELEMENT EXTENDER” is a drip pan designed to extend the heating surface of the electric range. It is suited for the 6 inch drip pan opening; when once inserted into the 6 inch hole the “JDC 6 INCH TO 8 INCH DRIP PAN AND HEATING ELEMENT EXTENDER” is capable of accepting an 8 inch heating element as opposed to a 6 inch heating element while maintaining all of the safety features of a standard drip pan.
Description
BACKGROUND

The “JDC 6-inch to 8-inch Drip Pan and Heating Element Extender” stems from the conventional drip pan. The drip pan is designed to catch food drippings that may fall from cookware while cooking meals on the range. I thought of this upgrade because conventional drip pans have not been upgraded for decades; furthermore, the 6-inch heating element is universally dreaded when it comes to preparing large meals during holiday seasons and other large gatherings and cookware that exceeds 6 inches in diameter must be used on them which extends cooking times. We all have thought, “I wish this heating element was bigger.” Now with the introduction of the “JDC 6-inch to 8-inch Drip Pan and Heating Element Extender” we can say goodbye to the small heating element forever.

SUMMARY

The “JDC 6 Inch to 8 Inch Drip Pan and Heating Element Extender” was created to not only to collect food drippings, but also to give us the ability to remove the 6 inch heating element and the 6 inch drip pan then replace the standard 6 inch drip pan with the specially designed “JDC 6 Inch to 8 Inch Drip Pan and Heating Element Extender” and replace the standard 6 inch heating element with an 8 inch heating element. These actions give the range operator a larger heating surface which significantly lowers cooking times.

EXPLANATION OF DRAWINGS

In the drawing labeled FIG. 1, is a cross section of the “JDC 6 Inch to 8 Inch Drip Pan and Heating Element Extender”, which shows how the 6 inch opening on the range accepts this specially designed drip pan.

FIG. 2 is the top view of the “JDC 6 Inch to 8 Inch Drip Pan and Heating Element Extender”. One sees the offset outer rim which is designed to be accept the 6-inch opening on the range, and to accept an 8-inch heating element. One also sees the vent hole in the center as well as the receptacle port near the edge of the “JDC 6 Inch to 8 Inch Drip Pan and Heating Element Extender”. The measurements are included and universal (prototype was fitted to 3 different ranges manufactured by GE, Kenmore, and Maytag).

DESCRIPTION

The “JDC 6 Inch to 8 Inch Drip Pan and Heating Element Extender” is a drip pan which is specifically designed to fit into the 6 inch holes on the electric range, but has the ability to accept an 8 inch heating element due to the offset design of the outer rim and heating element shelf. They are constructed of stainless-steel and are either chrome or black in color. Due to the innovative design, they are the only drip pans for the electric range capable of safely accepting 8 inch heating elements as opposed to the 6 inch heating elements which the holes were designed for.
