Claims
- 1. A unitary elastomer gel pen holder that includes a flexible, resilient, gel media having shape memory and being substantially solid and non-flowable at room temperature, unitary elastomer pen holder comprising:
a quantity of elastomer gel formed to have a top, a bottom, and an outer periphery, a plurality of generally parallel hollow columns, said hollow columns each having a longitudinal axis, said hollow columns serving as receptacles to hold pens or other objects being placed in said hollow columns generally parallel to said longitudinal axis, said hollow columns each having a top and a bottom, said hollow columns having walls made from said elastomer gel, and said hollow column walls being flexible and stretchable.
- 2. A pen holder as recited in claim 1, wherein a cross section of one of said columns taken orthogonal to said longitudinal axis of said column has a shape selected from the group consisting of triangular, square, rectangular, pentagonal, heptagonal, octagonal, round, oval, irregular, and n-sided polygonal where n is an integer.
- 3. A pen holder as recited in claim 1 wherein said hollow column walls have shape memory and tend to return to shape after stretching.
- 4. A pen holder as recited in claim 1 wherein said hollow columns are open at their tops.
- 5. A pen holder as recited in claim 1 wherein said elastomer gel includes:
an elastomer, said elastomer being an A-B-A triblock copolymer, said A-B-A triblock copolymer being selected from the group consisting of SEPS, SEBS and SEEPS, and a plasticizer, said plasticizer being selected from the group consisting of resin, rosin, oil and combinations thereof.
- 6. A pen holder as recited in claim 1 wherein said elastomer gel has a in the durometer range of from less than 0 to about 50 on the Shore A scale.
- 7. A pen holder as recited in claim l wherein said elastomer gel comprises an elastomer and a plasticizing agent.
- 8. A pen holder as recited in claim 7 wherein wherein said elastomer is an A-B-A triblock copolymer.
- 9. A pen holder as recited in claim 8 wherein said A-B-A triblock copolymer is selected from the group consisting of SEPS, SEBS and SEEPS.
- 10. A pen holder as recited in claim 8 wherein said plasticizer is selected from the group consisting of resin, rosin, oil and combinations thereof.
- 11. A unitary elastomer gel pen holder that includes a flexible, resilient, gel media having shape memory and being substantially solid and non-flowable at room temperature, unitary elastomer pen holder comprising:
a quantity of elastomer gel formed to have a top, a bottom, and an outer periphery, said elastomeric gel including
an elastomer, said elastomer being an A-B-A triblock copolymer, said A-B-A triblock copolymer being selected from the group consisting of SEPS, SEBS and SEEPS, and a plasticizer, said plasticizer being selected from the group consisting of resin, rosin, oil and combinations thereof, a plurality of generally parallel hollow columns, said hollow columns each having a longitudinal axis, said hollow columns serving as receptacles to hold pens and other objects being placed in said hollow columns generally parallel to said longitudinal axis, said hollow columns each having a top and a bottom, said hollow columns having walls made from said elastomer gel, and said hollow column walls being flexible and stretchable; and wherein said elastomer gel has a in the durometer range of from less than 0 to about 50 on the Shore A scale.
- 12. A pen holder as recited in claim 11, wherein a cross section of one of said columns taken orthogonal to said longitudinal axis of said column has a shape selected from the group consisting of triangular, square, rectangular, pentagonal, heptagonal, octagonal, round, oval, irregular, and n-sided polygonal where n is an integer.
- 13. A pen holder as recited in claim 11 wherein said hollow column walls have shape memory and tend to return to shape after stretching.
- 14. A pen holder as recited in claim 11 wherein said hollow columns are open at their tops.
- 15. A unitary elastomer gel pen holder that includes a flexible, resilient, gel media having shape memory and being substantially solid and non-flowable at room temperature, unitary elastomer pen holder comprising:
a quantity of elastomer gel formed to have a top, a bottom, and an outer periphery, said elastomeric gel including
an elastomer, said elastomer being an A-B-A triblock copolymer, and a plasticizer, a plurality of hollow columns, said hollow columns each having a longitudinal axis, said hollow columns serving as receptacles to hold pens and other objects being placed in said hollow columns generally parallel to said longitudinal axis, said hollow columns each having a top and a bottom, said hollow columns having walls made from said elastomer gel, and said hollow column walls being flexible and stretchable; and
wherein said elastomer gel has a in the durometer range of from less than 0 to about 50 on the Shore A scale.
- 16. A pen holder as recited in claim 15, wherein a cross section of one of said columns taken orthogonal to said longitudinal axis of said column has a shape selected from the group consisting of triangular, square, rectangular, pentagonal, heptagonal, octagonal, round, oval, irregular, and n-sided polygonal where n is an integer.
