Claims
- 1. A method of operating a plasticating machine in which a gas, vapor and/or liquid is delivered into a melted plastic downstream of an elongated screw shaft in said plasticating machine, including the steps of:providing a conduit for supplying a gas, vapor and/or liquid into said melted plastic in a housing of said plasticating machine; attaching a jewel orifice nozzle at a distal end of said conduit; directing said jewel orifice nozzle into said melted plastic; and introducing said gas, vapor and/or liquid through said conduit and jewel orifice nozzle and into said melted plastic.
- 2. The method of operating a plasticating machine in which a gas, vapor and/or liquid is delivered into a melted plastic downstream as recited in claim 1, including the step of;arranging said jewel orifice nozzle through a distal tip end of said screw shaft.
- 3. The method of operating a plasticating machine in which a gas, vapor and/or liquid is delivered into a melted plastic downstream as recited in claim 1, including the step of;regulating the temperature of said gas, vapor and/or liquid going through said jewel orifice nozzle and into said melted plastic.
- 4. The method of operating a plasticating machine in which a gas, vapor and/or liquid is delivered into a melted plastic downstream as recited in claim 1, including the step of;regulating the pressure of said gas, vapor and/or liquid going through said jewel orifice nozzle and into said melted plastic.
- 5. The method of operating a plasticating machine in which a gas, vapor and/or liquid is delivered into a melted plastic downstream as recited in claim 1, including the step of;regulating the temperature and pressure of said gas, vapor and/or liquid going through said jewel orifice nozzle and into said melted plastic.
