An assortment of attractive jewel patches on bands for decoration or for covering corns and other blemishes on a person's foot when wearing sandals and other open-toed shoes.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The present invention relates generally to foot pads. More specifically, the invention is an assortment of decorative patches on bands adapted to be worn by women (and men) over corns and other blemishes on their feet.

[0004] 2. Description of Related Art

[0005] There is a need for a decorative device or band, for women (and men) to use to cover their unsightly corns or other blemishes when sandals or open toe shoes are worn. Additionally, the decoration of these bands would serve as an attractive addition to one's attire.

[0006] The relevant art of interest describes various pads and bandages, but none discloses the present invention. The relevant art will be discussed in the order of perceived relevance to the present invention.

[0007] U.S. Pat. No. 5,136,726 issued on Aug. 11, 1992, to Elizabeth Kellin et al. describes stretchable articles of apparel with detachable decorative elements. The clothing articles include hats, shoes, slippers, belts, suspenders, and knapsacks. The decorative elements are illustrated as stars, hearts, eyeglasses, and circles which have loop fastening on their rear surfaces which attach to hook patches on the clothing. The detachable decorative elements are distinguishable for adornment on clothing which requires hook and loop fasteners and not on the human body part, per se.

[0008] U.S. Design Pat. No. 404,135 issued on Jan. 12, 1999, to Wayne K. Dunshee describes a star-shaped adhesive bandage having a decorated top surface with dots and a circular or square protruding center and an adhesive region on its rear surface except for the centered bandage. The bandage is distinguishable for its distinct usage requiring an adhesive backing.

[0009] U.S. Pat. No. 3,482,569 issued on Dec. 9, 1969, to Milo L. Raffaelli, Sr. describes an x-shaped digit encircling surgical pad with or without a central tab and having a body portion at each end to encircle a toe or finger. The pad contains circular apertures at each end and triangular apertures located proximate the center. The surgical pads are distinguishable for their distinctive shapes and for requiring an adhesive backing.

[0010] U.S. Pat. No. 3,253,591 issued on May 31, 1966, to William M. Scholl describes four foot cushions carried by the foot comprising two heat sealed thermoplastic foam layers in various shapes. The most pertinent foot cushion of FIGS. 4 and 7 is an apertured oval cushion with a digit loop encircling a toe. The foot cushions are distinguishable for their foam layers and distinctive shapes with an apertured center in several foot cushions.

[0011] U.S. Design Pat. No. 362,505 issued on Sep. 19, 1995, to B. Robert Fabricant describes a corn pad for a toe configured with an oblong shape having a centered circular pad. The corn pad is distinguishable for lacking ornamental features.

[0012] U.S. Design Pat. No. 399,965 issued on Oct. 20, 1998, and U.S. Design Pat. No. 403,774 issued on Jan. 5, 1999, to Thomas J. Laughlin et al. describes circular corn pads which are distinguishable for their distinctive shapes and adhesive backing.

[0013] Canada Patent No. 674,811 issued on Nov. 26, 1963, to Charles A. Hanington describes a corn or callous pad with a circular shape having a tab. The corn pad is distinguishable for its distinctive tab and adhesive backing.

[0014] None of the above inventions and patents, taken either singly or in combination, is seen to describe the instant invention as claimed.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0015] The invention is directed to an assortment of attractive jewel patches on cloth bands for decorating or covering corns and other blemishes on a woman's (or man's) exposed toes when wearing sandals and other open-toed shoes.

[0016] Accordingly, it is a principal object of the invention to provide attractive jewel patches for decorating the toes of persons wearing sandals or open-toed shoes.

[0017] It is another object of the invention to provide attractive jewel patches for persons wearing sandals or open-toed shoes to cover unattractive corns or blemishes.

[0018] It is a further object of the invention to provide an assortment of attractive jewel patches for persons wearing sandals or open-toed shoes selected from the group consisting of diamonds, squares, triangles, stars, circular shapes, and oval shapes.

[0019] It is an object of the invention to provide improved elements and arrangements thereof in an apparatus for the purposes described which is inexpensive, dependable and fully effective in accomplishing its intended purposes.

[0020] These and other objects of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following specification and drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING

[0021] The sole FIGURE is an environmental, partial perspective view of a person's foot illustrating a series of different jewel patches on toe-bands according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0022] The present invention is directed to a jewel patch 10 having a cloth band 12 for decorating exposed human toes 14 without or with blemishes which the person wishes to cover when wearing open-toed slippers, sandals and the like. The jewel patches 10 are illustrated in different configurations on each toe for the sake of brevity, but can be an assortment dependent on the preferences of the wearer.

[0023] On the big toe 16, a circular base 18 has a star 20 glued on it. The base 18 and star 20 can be one piece or two pieces of plastic or metal attached to the band 12 made of a fabric. The star 20 and the base 18 can be further decorated with glittering particles of matching or contrasting colors (not shown). The star 20 can have ruffles (not shown) surrounding it for enhancing the decorative effect. The cloth band 12 can also have a matching or contrasting color vis-a-vis the base 10 and the star 20. The remaining combinations on the other toes can have the same composition, contrasting color scheme and ruffles.

[0024] A diamond shaped iridescent colored stone 22 on a circular base 18 is attached to a cloth stepping band 12 on the adjoining toe 24. The middle toe 26 is adorned with a teardrop shaped stone 28 positioned on a square shaped base 30 with rounded corners. The adjoining toe 32 has a circular pearl shaped and colored stone 34 on a another square shaped base 30. The little toe 36 has another square shaped base 30 supporting a flower 38. The bands are attached to the toes with or without hook and loop fastening.

[0025] As noted above, the drawing is representative of the possible decorative artifacts comprising essentially a stone on a cloth band positioned on a toe. An oval, triangular or square shaped stone is also contemplated.

[0026] It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the sole embodiments described above, but encompasses any and all embodiments within the scope of the following claims.

Claims

1. A jewel patch on a band for decorating exposed human toes comprising: a synthetic jewel; a cloth band; and the jewel positioned on the cloth band, and the band configured to attach to a human toe; whereby the jewel patch on the band can be exhibited when open toed shoes are worn or with a medicated corn patch as cover up for blemishes.

2. The jewel patch on a band according to claim 1, including a synthetic jewel having a configuration selected from the group consisting of a diamond, a square, a triangle, a star, a circular shape, and an oval shape.

3. The jewel patch on a band according to claim 1, wherein the jewel is colored and adorned with a border of glittering specks.

4. A kit comprising a predetermined number of jewel patches on a band for decorating exposed human toes, each of said jewel patches comprising: a synthetic jewel; a band; and the jewel positioned on said band, the band configured to attach to a human toe; whereby one or more of the jewel patches on bands can be exhibited when open toed shoes are worn.

5. The kit according to claim 4, wherein each said band is made of cloth having hook and loop fastening.

6. The kit according to claim 4, each synthetic jewel having a configuration selected from the group consisting of a diamond, a square, a triangle, a star, a circular shape, and an oval shape.

7. The kit according to claim 4, wherein each jewel is colored and adorned with a border of glittering specks.

8. The kit according to claim 4, the number of jewel patches being five.

9. The kit according to claim 4, the number of jewel patches being ten.
