- 2. The jogger of claim 1 wherein the recess in the inner face of the plate member is defined by first and second spaced vertically extending sidewalls extending from a recessed wall, the bore extending through the recessed wall.
- 3. The jogger of claim 2 wherein the first and second sidewalls converge towards each other as the first and second sidewalls extend from the recessed wall.
- 4. The jogger of claim 3 wherein the jogger element is defined by a vertically extending inner face, an opposite vertically extending outer face slibably engaging the recessed wall, a horizontally extending upper face, an opposite horizontally extending lower face, a first end face slidably engaging the first sidewall, and second opposite end face slidably engaging the second sidewall.
- 5. The jogger of claim 4 wherein the first and second end faces converge towards each other as the first and second end faces extend between the outer wall and the inner wall of the jogger element.
- 6. The jogger of claim 1 wherein the acute angle of the bore is in the range of 30° and 80°.
- 7. The jogger of claim 1 wherein the acute angle of the bore is approximately 65°.
- 8. The jogger of claim 1 wherein the outer face of the plate member includes a lip, the lip engageable with a corresponding ledge along the outer frame to support the plate member thereon.
- 9. The jogger of claim 1 further comprising a fastening element extending through the bore therethrough the plate member and receivable in a corresponding slot in the outer frame to interconnect the plate member to the outer frame.
- 10. The jogger of claim 9 wherein the jogger element includes a generally oblong opening through for receiving a portion of the fastening element, the opening defining limits for movement of the jogger element between the retracted and extended positions.
- 11. A jogger for aligning carton blanks die cut from a sheet supported on an inner grid mounted to an outer frame for a lower blanking tool of a carton die cutting machine, comprising:
a plate member defining inner and outer faces, the plate member having a recess formed therein and a bore extending between the inner face and the outer face along an axis at an acute angle to the outer face; and a jogger element positioned within the recess and movable between a retracted position and an extended position.
- 12. The jogger of claim 11 wherein the recess is formed in the inner face of the plate member and is defined by first and second spaced vertically extending sidewalls extending from a recessed wall, the bore extending through the recessed wall.
- 13. The jogger of claim 12 wherein the first and second sidewalls converge towards each other as the first and second sidewalls extend from the recessed wall.
- 14. The jogger of claim 13 wherein the jogger element is defined by a vertically extending inner face, an opposite vertically extending outer face slidably engaging the recessed wall, a horizontally extending upper face, an opposite horizontally extending lower face, a first end face slidably engaging the first sidewall, and second opposite end face slidably engaging the second sidewall.
- 15. The jogger of claim 14 wherein the first and second end faces converge towards each other as the first and second end faces extend between the outer wall and the inner wall of the jogger element.
- 16. The jogger of claim 14 wherein:
a plate member further defines a horizontally extending upper face and an opposite horizontally extending lower face; the recess extends between the upper and lower faces of the plate member; and the lower face of the jogger element is substantially flush with the lower face of the plate member with the jogger element in the retracted postion.
- 17. The jogger of claim 11 wherein the acute angle of the bore is in the range of 30° and 80°.
- 18. The jogger of claim 17 wherein the acute angle of the bore is approximately 65°.
- 19. The jogger of claim 11 wherein the outer face of the plate member includes a lip, the lip engageable with a corresponding ledge along the outer frame to support the plate member thereon.
- 20. The jogger of claim 11 further comprising a fastening element extending through the bore through the plate member and receivable in a corresponding slot in the outer frame to interconnect the plate member to the outer frame.
- 21. The jogger of claim 20 wherein the jogger element includes a generally oblong opening therethrough for receiving a portion of the fastening element, the opening defining limits for movement of the jogger element between the retracted and extended positions.
- 22. A frame assembly for a lower blanking tool of a carton die cutting machine, comprising:
a rigid outer frame; an inner grid includes a plurality of lengthwise and crosswise extending bars; and a plurality of joggers attached to the outer frame, each jogger including:
a plate member defining inner and outer faces, the plate member having a recess formed therein and a bore extending between the inner face and the outer face along an axis at an acute angle to the outer face; a jogger element positioned within the recess and movable between a retracted position and an extended position; and a fastening element extending through the bore through the plate member and receivable in a corresponding slot in the outer frame to interconnect the plate member to the outer frame.
- 23. The frame assembly of claim 22 wherein the acute angle of the bore is in the range of 30° and 80°.
- 24. The frame assembly of claim 22 wherein the acute angle of the bore is approximately 65°.
