Claims
- 1. An isolated nucleic acid molecule having a nucleic acid sequence at least 70% identical to the human KCNQ2 polynucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 19.
- 2. The isolated nucleic acid molecule according to claim 1 having a nucleic acid sequence at least 70% identical to the human KCNQ2 polypeptide coding region comprising nucleotide position 61 through nucleotide position 2676 of SEQ ID NO: 19.
- 3. An isolated nucleic acid molecule encoding a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence at least 70% identical to the KCNQ2 amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 20.
- 4. An isolated nucleic acid molecule having a nucleotide sequence capable of hybridizing under stringent conditions to (a) the human KCNQ2 polynucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 19; (b) a molecule having a sequence complementary to SEQ ID NO: 19; or (c) variations of (a) due to degeneracy in the genetic code.
- 5. The isolated nucleic acid molecule according to claim 4, wherein said stringent conditions comprise 1× sodium chloride, sodium citrate (SSC) and 0.1% sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) at a temperature of at least about 42° C.
- 6. The isolated nucleic acid molecule according to claim 4 wherein the nucleic acid molecule is capable of hybridizing under stringent conditions to the human KCNQ2 polypeptide coding region comprising nucleotide position 61 through nucleotide position 2676 of SEQ ID NO: 19.
- 7. The isolated nucleic acid molecule according to claim 6, wherein said stringent conditions comprise 1× sodium chloride, sodium citrate (SSC) and 0.1% sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) at a temperature of at least about 42° C.
- 8. The isolated nucleic acid molecule according to claim 6 wherein the nucleic acid molecule is selected from the group consisting of (a) the complement of the KCNQ2 coding region from nucleotide position 61 through nucleotide position 2676 of SEQ ID NO: 19 and (b) variations of (a) due to degeneracy in the genetic code.
- 9. The isolated nucleic acid molecule according to claim 8, wherein said stringent conditions comprise 1× sodium chloride, sodium citrate (SSC) and 0.1% sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) at a temperature of at least about 42° C.
- 10. An isolated nucleic acid molecule encoding human KCNQ2 and selected from the group consisting of (a) the complement of SEQ ID NO: 19 and (b) variations of (a) due to degeneracy in the genetic code.
- 11. The isolated nucleic acid molecule according to claim 10, wherein the nucleic acid molecule is selected from the group consisting of (a) the complement of the KCNQ2 coding region from nucleotide position 61 through nucleotide position 2676 of SEQ ID NO: 19 and (b) variations of (a) due to degeneracy in the genetic code.
