Abstract
A change purse composed of enveloping flexible material such as solid or clear plastic, leather, fabric, or light metal, with closure means such as a zipper, Velcro or buttons and having a grommet in one corner of the flexible material for slidable attachment to a key ring.
Description

This invention relates generally to hand held pocket accessories and more particularly to a change purse for attachment to a key ring.

BACKGROUND ART

A myriad of change purses and key holders have been invented including:

U.S. Pat. No. 1,699,865, Pocket Article Holder filed Jun. 6, 1928 by Walton for a leather pocket key holder with a plurality of key hooks within. The key (s) are inside the pocket and inaccessable until the pocket is opened. This product does not claim to hold coins.

U.S. Pat. No. 1,821,585, Key And License Holder, filed Aug. 25, 1930 by Smith for a fold-over holder with a small protruding flap for holding a key ring. This product is designed to hold a license not coins and has fabric rather than metal holding the key ring.

U.S. Pat. No. 2,066,526, Key Carrier, filed Jan. 8, 1936 by Gladstone for a key container with a chain to hold the keys from becoming separated from the container. There is no indication that the container is intended to hold coins and the mechanism for holding keys is more elaborate than really needed.

U.S. Pat. No. 2,285,154, Key Holder, filed 17, 1941 by Lewellen is for a sheath for slidably receiving keys into interior compartments.

U.S. Pat. No. 3,261,387, Change Bag filed Apr. 9, 1964 by CMa holds coins not keys.

U.S. Pat. No. 4,166,489, Key And Coin Holder, filed Feb. 21, 1978 by Lemeeo is for coin container with a retaining loop for holding a key ring. The retaining loop would be susceptible to breaking and has an elaborate construction.

U.S. Pat. No. 4,332,284, Key Chain Wallet, filed Jul. 14, 1980 by Pallis for an accessory case to be carried in a pocket or purse with a protruding strip of material for holding a key ring. The material strip seems susceptible to easy breakage.

U.S. Pat. No. 4,782,874, Convertible Purse and Tote Bag, filed Sep. 16, 1987 by Chartier is for a small flat purse or wallet for holding keys etc., which contains an unfoldable bag capable of enveloping the wallet and using it as its base. No mention of coins.

This Key Ring Purse invention is structurally different from the foregoing prior art and provides for attachment of a change purse to a key ring in the strongest simplest way. The grommet is the key. No prior art claims or suggests a grommet for connecting a change purse with a key ring.

OBJECTS OF INVENTION

One object of the invention is to provide a hand accessory container for both coins and keys. Another object of the invention is to combine a key holder and change purse constructed in the simplest possible way. A further object is to provide a secure carrying case for coins and keys. Another object is to contain coins interiorly while having key (s) immediately available exteriorly. Still another object is to provide visibility of interior contents. Another object is to create a sturdy connection between key holder and change purse. Another object of the invention is to enable simultaneous removal of coins and keys from a pocket or handbag with a single motion, for example upon approaching a metal detector.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

This invention is a change purse of enveloping flexible material (such as plastic, leather, fabric or light metal), with a grommet at one corner so that the purse itself can be slid onto a key ring Optimally a zipper handle is at the purse end nearest the grommet aiding against escape of coins.
