Claims
- 1. L-aspartyl-L-thienylalanine methyl ester of the formula ##STR29## where A is a radical of the formula ##STR30## in which R can be H or CH.sub.3.
- 2. Compound of the formula I, according to claim 1, characterized in that A is 2'-thienyl, 3'-thienyl or 2'-(5'-methyl)thienyl.
- 3. Process for preparing compounds of the formula ##STR31## where A is a radical of the formula ##STR32## in which R can be H or CH.sub.3, which is characterized in that a compound of the formula ##STR33## where B is an amino protecting group and Y is a carboxyl protecting group, is reacted with a compound of the formula ##STR34## where A has the above meaning, in the presence of an acid acceptor, to give a compound of the formula ##STR35## where A, B and Y have the above meaning, whereupon, after removing protecting groups by the acidolytic method, the corresponding compound of the formula I is isolated using a base from the salt thus produced.
- 4. A process for using compounds of the formula ##STR36## where A is a radical of the formula ##STR37## in which R can be H or CH.sub.3, as artificial sweetener.
