The disclosure relates to dispensing devices and more particularly pertains to a new dispensing device for dispensing a plurality of labels.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a plurality of canisters. Each of the canisters may contain a roll of labels such that selected ones of the labels are removable from each of the canisters. A plurality of cutters is provided. Each of the cutters is coupled to an associated one of the canisters and each of the cutters may cut the selected labels from the roll of labels in the associated canister.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The peripheral wall 20 has a slot 22 extending into an interior of the canisters 12. Thus, the slot 22 may have an end 24 of the roll of labels 14 extending outwardly from the slot 22 thereby facilitating selected ones of the labels 14 to be removed from the canisters 12. The canisters 12 are stacked upon each other such that the slot 22 in each of the canisters 12 is aligned with the slot 22 in an adjacent canister 12. The top wall 16 of each of the canisters 12 is removable from each of the canisters 12 thereby facilitating the roll of labels 14 to be inserted into and removed from each of the canisters 12.
Each of the canisters 12 has a sleeve 26 extending between the top wall 16 and the bottom wall 18. The sleeve 26 is centrally positioned within each of the canisters 12 such that the sleeve 26 may have the one of the roll of labels 14 wrapped around the sleeve 26. A plurality of cutters 28 is provided and each of the cutters 28 is coupled to an associated one of the canisters 12. Thus, each of the cutters 28 may cut the selected labels 14 from the roll of labels 14 in the associated canister 12. The labels 25 may comprise address labels and postage stamps.
Each of the cutters 26 extends between the top wall 16 and the bottom wall 18 of the associated canister 12. Each of the cutters 26 is spaced from the peripheral wall 20 of the associated canister 12. Thus, each of the cutters 26 may have the end 24 of one of the roll of labels 14 extended between the cutter 26 and the peripheral wall 20. Each of the cutters 26 is positioned adjacent to the slot 22 in the associated canister 12 and each of the cutters 26 has a first edge 29. The first edge 29 of each of the cutters 26 comprises a plurality of teeth 30 thereby facilitating the first edge 29 to cut the associated roll of labels 14 to a selected length.
A fastener 32 is selectively extended through the top wall 16 and the bottom wall 18 of each of the canisters 12 such that the canisters 12 are coupled together in the stacked arrangement. The fastener 32 extends through the sleeve 26 in each of the canisters 12. The plurality of canisters 12 includes a topmost canister 34 and a bottommost canister 36. The fastener 32 may comprise a nut 38 and a bolt 40. The bolt 40 is extended through the canisters 12 such that a head 42 of the bolt 40 abuts the top wall 16 of topmost canister 34. The bolt 40 extends through the bottom wall 18 of the bottommost canister 36. The nut 38 engages the bolt 40 such that the nut 38 abuts the bottom wall 18 of the bottommost canister 36.
The bottommost canister 36 may include a drawer 44 that is slidably coupled to the bottommost canister 36. The drawer 44 may be urged to slide outwardly from the peripheral wall 20 of the bottommost canister 36. A knob 46 may be coupled to the drawer 44 thereby facilitating the drawer 44 to be manipulated. The drawer 44 may be used for storage purposes. The topmost canister 34 may have a diameter that is less than a diameter of the rest of the plurality of canisters 12.
In use, each of the rolls of labels 14 is positioned within selected ones of the canisters 12 and the end 24 of each of the roll of labels 14 is extended through the slot 22 and between the cutter 26 and the peripheral wall 20 of the associated canister 12. The top wall 16 of each canister 12 is placed on the associated canister 12 and the canisters 12 are stacked. The fastener 32 is extended through the canisters 12 to fasten the canisters 12 together. Selected ones of the labels 14 are removed from the rolls of labels 14.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
