Claims
- 1. A labelled package comprising a package containing a product at a low temperature, having a wrapping of ionomer film and a label including a paper label face and an ionomer adhesive layer
- wherein the ionomer adhesive layer is fused to the wrapping with said wrapping at said temperature to yield a single layer of ionomer, the adhesion forces being such that, when the label is pulled from the package while the package contents are at a temperature of about -30.degree. Centigrade, there is fiber tear over at least 50 percent of the area of the label face.
- 2. The package of claim 1 wherein the wrapping of ionomer film comprises ionomer having from 10 to 90 percent of the free carboxyl groups present therein neutralized by zinc or sodium cations.
- 3. The package of claim 2 wherein the ionomer adhesive comprises ionomer having from 10 to 90 percent of the free carboxyl groups present therein neutralized by zinc or sodium cations.
- 4. The package of claim 1 wherein the label face is covered by a protective polymer layer.
- 5. The package of claim 1 wherein the ionomer film of the wrapping is 0.01 to 0.25 mm thick.
