Claims
- 1. A structure comprising:
- a lattice in the form of a continuous array, said structure being formed from at least one substrate having a pattern of apertures therein, said pattern of apertures being sized and shaped so as to form said array in said at least one substrate.
- 2. The lattice of claim 1 wherein said lattice is formed from a material selected from the group consisting of brass and stainless steel.
- 3. The lattice of claim 2 wherein said material forming said lattice has a thickness of between about 0.005 inches and about 0.01 inches.
- 4. The lattice of claim 3 wherein said material forming said lattice has a diameter of between about 0.008 inches.
- 5. A structure comprising a lattice in the form of a continuous array, said structure being formed from a first substrate, a second substrate, and a third substrate, said second substrate being positioned between said first substrate and said third substrate, said first substrate and said third substrate having a first pattern of apertures therein, said second substrate having a second pattern of apertures therein, said first pattern and said second pattern cooperating to form said lattice when said first substrate, said second substrate, and said third substrate are connected so as to form said structure.
- 6. The structural material of claim 5 wherein said first pattern of apertures is sized and shaped so as to form in said first substrate an array of planar substantially trigonal structures.
- 7. The structural material of claim 5 wherein said first pattern of apertures is sized and shaped so as to form in said third substrate an array of planar substantially trigonal structures.
- 8. The structural material of claim 5 wherein said second pattern of apertures is sized and shaped so as to form in said second substrate an array of planar substantially trigonal structures.
- 9. The structural material of claim 5 wherein said first pattern of apertures in said first substrate and said third substrate, and said second pattern of apertures in said second substrate, are substantially identical.
- 10. The structural material of claim 1 wherein said apertures in said substrate have a substantially trigonal configuration.
- 11. A structure as claimed in claim 1, said continuous array being in the form of substantially polygonal structures.
- 12. A structure as claimed in claim 11, wherein said substantially polygonal structures are substantially trigonal.
- 13. A structure as claimed in claim 1, said continuous array being in the form of substantially round structures.
- 14. A structure as claimed in claim 13, wherein said substantially round structures are substantially oval.
- 15. A structure as claimed in claim 13, wherein said substantially round structures are substantially circular.
- 16. A structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein said structure is substantially planar.
- 17. A structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein said structure is substantially corrugated.
- 18. A structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein said continuous array comprises a plurality of substantially polygonal structures.
- 19. A structure as claimed in claim 18, said substantially polygonal structures having plural vertices and support legs, wherein respective substantially polygonal structures share at least one vertex and support leg with adjacent substantially polygonal structures.
- 20. A structure as claimed in claim 5, said first pattern and said second pattern cooperating to form said lattice of substantially polygonal structures.
- 21. A structure as claimed in claim 20, said continuous array being in the form of substantially trigonal structures.
- 22. A structure as claimed in claim 9, to wherein said first pattern of apertures and said second pattern of apertures form substantially polygonal structures.
- 23. A structure as claimed in claim 22, said first pattern of apertures and said second pattern of apertures having plural vertices and support legs, said first pattern of apertures and said second pattern of apertures cooperating such that respective substantially polygonal structures share at least one vertex and support leg with adjacent substantially polygonal structures.
- 24. A structure as claimed in claim 5, wherein said second pattern of apertures forms in said second substrate an array of corrugated substantially polygonal structures.

No. 08/033,111, filed Mar. 18, 1993, now abandoned, the disclosures of all of which are hereby incorporated by reference.
