Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a garment, especially to a trench coat that prevents rainwater from entering through a neckline.

2. Description of the Prior Arts

A conventional double-breasted trench coat looks chic and elegant in style. Although the conventional double-breasted trench coat can basically block wind and rain, few or almost no people would wear the conventional trench coat when riding a motorcycle on rainy days. The reasons are as follows:

1. Insufficient waterproof function: When the conventional trench coat is worn by a user, since only outer edges of a left front piece and a right front piece of the conventional trench coat overlap, and the overlapping portion is fixed by only several rows of buttons and buttonholes, multiple gaps are formed between the left and right front pieces and therefore wind pressure during riding pushes rainwater to enter the conventional trench coat through the gaps.

2. The waterproof function of a collar is insufficient: Since the collar of the conventional trench coat is suit-typed, the collar can only be turned to stand up to block the rain. However, an opening formed by a neckline of the collar still exists between the collar and the user's neck. Therefore, the wind pressure during riding pushes rainwater to enter the conventional trench coat through the opening between the collar and the user's neck.

With reference to FIGS. 12 and 13, which show a structure of a conventional double-breasted trench coat as disclosed in an invention patent with publication number US 2018-0325190-A1 (application Ser. No. 15/970,974, U.S. Pat. No. 10,595,571), the conventional double-breasted trench coat has a coat body 50. The coat body 50 is suitable for a person to wear and is formed by connecting a back piece 51, a left-front piece 52, and a right-front piece 53. A top side of the coat body 50 forms a neckline opening 500.

Each of left and right sides of the coat body 50 forms a sleeve connecting opening. An outer edge of each of the left-front piece 52 and the right-front piece 53 extends outward by an appropriate length to allow the two outer edges to overlap, and two rows of multiple buttons 531 and buttonholes 521, which are adapted to buckle each other, are mounted on the two outer edges where the left-front piece 52 and the right-front piece 53 overlap.

Two sleeves are respectively mounted on the sleeve connecting openings of the left and right sides of the coat body 50. A first collar 501 is mounted around the neckline opening 500 of the coat body 50, and a bottom edge of the first collar 501 is connected to an annular edge defined around the neckline opening 500.

A left covering piece 54 is mounted on an inner surface of the left-front piece 52, and a left edge of the left covering piece 54 is fixed on the inner surface of the left-front piece 52.

A right covering piece 55 is mounted on an inner surface of the right-front piece 53, and a right edge of the right covering piece 55 is fixed on the inner surface of the right-front piece 53.

A second collar 56 is located in an inner side of the first collar 501, and the first collar 501 surrounds the second collar 56. A left part of a bottom edge of the second collar 56 is connected to a top edge of the left covering piece 54, and a right part of the bottom edge of the second collar 56 is connected to a top edge of the right covering piece 55. The rest part of the bottom edge of the second collar 56, which is between the left part and the right part and is also between the left covering piece 54 and the right covering piece 55, is connected to the edge defined around the neckline opening 500.

At least one buckling assembly 57 is mounted on a right edge of the left covering piece 54 and a left edge of the right covering piece 55, thereby allowing the left covering piece 54 and the right covering piece 55 to buckle each other. The buckling assembly 57 can be extended up to a left side and a right side of the second collar 56 as needed in order to buckle the left and the right sides of the second collar 56 together to enhance neck protection for the user.

Thus, the second collar 56, the left covering piece 54, and the right covering piece 55 form a water-blocking curtain in the conventional double-breasted trench coat. The water-blocking curtain is cleverly designed as wearing a jacket inside the conventional trench coat, thereby matching the appearance without weirdness. The water-blocking curtain can completely block the rainwater which might leak into the conventional trench coat through the opening between the first collar 501 and the user's neck, or through the gaps between the overlapped left-front piece 52 and right-front piece 53, preventing the rainwater from entering the conventional double-breasted trench coat, and enhancing its rain-proof effect.

The conventional trench coat as described above has the following disadvantages:

1. The production process is complicated and troublesome: While fixing the first collar 501 and the second collar 56 to the edge defined around the neckline opening 500, the left part and the right part of the bottom edge of the second collar 56 have to be respectively fixed to the top edges of the left covering piece 54 and the right covering piece 55, and the left covering piece 54 and the right covering piece 55 further have to be respectively fixed to the left-front piece 52 and the right-front piece 53. Under those production procedures, time consumption and labor cost are inevitably high, thereby making the total cost unreducible.

2. A neck circumference of the second collar 56 cannot be adjusted: Since a perimeter of the neck differs from person to person and thicknesses of collars of winter and summer clothes are also different, the neck circumference of the second collar 56 is forced to be made to fit a thicker neck in order to apply to every person. Thus, when a user has a thinner neck, the rainwater will leak into the conventional trench coat through the gap between the user's neck and the second collar 56.

3. In the conventional trench coat, the second collar 56, the left covering piece 54, and the right covering piece 55 are capable of being hidden inside the coat body 50. That is, the second collar 56 can be folded downward into the coat body 50 (placed on left and right shoulders and below a nape of the user), and the left covering piece 54 can be folded and hidden behind the left-front piece 52, and the right covering piece 55 can be folded and hidden behind the right-front piece 53.

However, the second collar 56 is a dimensional-cut structure (similar to a circular tube) and the second collar 56 is even connected to the left covering piece 54 and the right covering piece 55, so it is difficult to completely fold the second collar 56 and to flatly place the second collar 56 on the left and right shoulders and below the nape. Therefore, after the second collar 56 is folded and hidden behind the coat body 50, the folded second collar 56 will cause an unevenness on the appearance of the coat body 50 at the left and right shoulders and the nape.

4. It is difficult for the user to fold the second collar 56 while wearing the conventional trench coat.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a trench coat to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to provide a trench coat that has a left covering piece and a right covering piece respectively connected to a left neck covering piece and a right neck covering piece. Multiple fixing units are mounted between the left and right neck covering pieces and an inner surface of a collar, the multiple fixing units being capable of buckling each other. Thus, the neck circumference is adjustable to fit the user's neck size, so that no gap is formed between the trench coat and the user's neck, thereby preventing air and rainwater from permeating into the trench coat.

The trench coat has a coat body and a cover. The coat body has a main body, two sleeves, a collar, at least two left fixing units, and at least two right fixing units. The main body has a back piece, a left-front piece, a right-front piece, and a first buckling assembly. The back piece has a left side and a right side. The left-front piece has a first side connected to the left side of the back piece, and a second side being opposite to the first side of the left-front piece. The right-front piece has a first side connected to the right side of the back piece, and a second side being opposite to the first side of the right-front piece. The second side of the left-front piece is capable of overlapping with the second side of the right-front piece. The first buckling assembly is mounted to both the second side of the left-front piece and the second side of the right-front piece. The two sleeves are respectively mounted on two sides of the main body and communicating with an inner space of the main body. The collar is mounted on a top side of the main body. At least two left fixing units are mounted on an inner surface of the collar and correspond in position to the left-front piece. At least two right fixing units are mounted on the inner surface of the collar and correspond in position to the right-front piece. The cover has a left covering piece, a right covering piece, a second buckling assembly, a left neck covering piece, at least one left outer fixing unit, a right neck covering piece, and at least one right outer fixing unit. The left covering piece has a left edge connected to an inner surface of the left-front piece and a left edge. The right covering piece has a right edge connected to an inner surface of the right-front piece and a right buckling edge. A side of the second buckling assembly is connected to the left buckling edge, and another side of the second buckling assembly is connected to the right buckling edge. The left neck covering piece is mounted on a top side of the left covering piece. The at least one left outer fixing unit is mounted on an outer surface of the left neck covering piece and corresponds in position to the at least two left fixing units. The at least one left outer fixing unit detachably buckles the at least two left fixing units. The right neck covering piece is mounted on a top side of the right covering piece. The at least one right outer fixing unit is mounted on an outer surface of the right neck covering piece and corresponds in position to the at least two right fixing units. The at least one right outer fixing unit detachably buckles the at least two right fixing units.

The trench coat of the present invention has advantages as follows:

1. With the left, right neck covering pieces and the left, right covering pieces, a waterproof curtain is formed inside the trench coat. The waterproof curtain can completely block the rain water, which leaks through the collar or the gaps between the overlapped left-front piece and right-front piece, from entering the trench coat, thereby enhancing the rainproof function. Additionally, the structure of the left, right neck covering pieces and the left, right covering pieces is simplified, thereby making the process of folding the waterproof curtain easier and solving the problem of the conventional trench coat.

2. With one fixing unit of each of the left, right neck covering pieces selectively buckles two fixing units on each of the left, right inner surfaces of the collar, the neck circumference of the collar is adjustable. The aforementioned adjusting structure guarantees a flat and symmetrical appearance on the neckline and the chest of the user, thereby giving an aesthetically appealing appearance, and the adjusting structure further ensures the adjustment range is apportioned by both left and right sides. In addition, the adjusting structure can be hidden inside the collar, thereby offering an adjusting function that is not directly visible from the appearance.

3. Since the left fixing segment of the left neck covering piece is fixed to the inner surface of the collar and forms a fixing line, and the right fixing segment of the right neck covering piece is fixed to the inner surface of the collar and forms another fixing line, the rainwater can be completely blocked from entering the coat body.

4. In the present invention, the water-blocking curtain formed inside the coat body is cleverly designed resembling a jacket worn inside the trench coat, thereby matching the appearance without weirdness.

5. In the present invention, the structure of the trench coat and the production process of the same are both simplified, thereby reducing costs and enhancing the waterproof function.

Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

The first buckling assembly 110 is mounted to both the second side of the left-front piece 112 and the second side of the right-front piece 113.

The two sleeves 12 are respectively mounted on two sides of the main body 11 and communicate with an inner space of the main body 11.

The collar 13 is mounted on a top side of the main body 11.

The aforementioned first buckling assembly 110 in the first embodiment as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 has multiple double breasted buttonholes 114 and multiple double breasted buttons 115. The buttonholes 114 are located on the left-front piece 112. The buttons 115 are mounted on the right-front piece 113, and correspond in position to the buttonholes 114. The buttonholes 114 and the buttons 115 are adapted to buckle to or detach from each other for a user to wear. The buttonholes 114 and the buttons 115 can also be replaced by buckles or any object that has a similar function.

The collar 13 is mounted on the top side of the main body 11, and communicates with the inner space of the main body 11. The collar 13 is adapted to be folded outward with top edges of the left-front piece 112 and of the right-front piece 113 to form a V-shaped neckline. At least two left fixing units 131 are mounted on an inner surface of the collar 13 and correspond in position to the left-front piece 112. At least two right fixing units 132 are mounted on the inner surface of the collar 13 and correspond in position to the right-front piece 113. With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, in the first embodiment, the at least two left fixing units 131 include two left fixing units 131, and the at least two right fixing units 132 include two right fixing units 132.

The cover 20 has a left covering piece 21, a right covering piece 22, and a second buckling assembly 23.

The left covering piece 21 has a left edge 210 connected to an inner surface of the left-front piece 112 and a left buckling edge. The right covering piece 22 has a right edge 220 connected to an inner surface of the right-front piece 113 and a right buckling edge. The left edge 210 and the right edge 220 offer flipping functions to the left covering piece 21 and the right covering piece 22. A side of the second buckling assembly 23 is connected to the left buckling edge of the left covering piece 21, and another side of the second buckling assembly 23 is connected to the right buckling edge of the right covering piece 22. The second buckling assembly 23 is located between the left covering piece 21 and the right covering piece 22.

In addition, the left edge 210 of the left covering piece 21 can be detachably mounted on the inner surface of the left-front piece 112 by a zipper, and the right edge 220 of the right covering piece 22 can be detachably mounted on the inner surface of the right-front piece 113 by a zipper. By this, the left covering piece 21 and the right covering piece 22 can be detached from the main body 11 when needed.

With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, in the first embodiment, the second buckling assembly 23 is a conventional zipper. But the second buckling assembly 23 can also be implemented as a fastener, a buckle, or any object that has a similar function. Further, the second buckling assembly 23 can also be implemented to extend upwards to a left neck covering piece 211 and a right neck covering piece 221 as needed.

When needed, the left edge 210 of the left covering piece 21 can also be fixed to an object, which is originally fixed on the inner surface of the left-front piece 112, to indirectly fix the left covering piece 21 on the inner surface of the left-front piece 112. The right edge 220 of the right covering piece 22 can also be fixed to an object, which is originally fixed on the inner surface of the right-front piece 113, to indirectly fix the right covering piece 22 on the inner surface of the right-front piece 113. The object can be a liner, an inner sheet, a tarpaulin, or a folded sheet. With this, the left-front piece 112 and the right-front piece 113 have clear outer surfaces without any sewing lines, thereby keeping an aesthetically appealing appearance.

A left neck covering piece 211 is mounted on a top side of the left covering piece 21.

A right neck covering piece 221 is mounted on a top side of the right covering piece 22.

At least one left outer fixing unit 212 is mounted on an outer surface of the left neck covering piece 211 and corresponds in position to the at least two left fixing units 131, and the at least one left outer fixing unit 212 detachably buckles the at least two left fixing units 131.

At least one right outer fixing unit 222 is mounted on an outer surface of the right neck covering piece 211 and corresponds in position to the at least two right fixing units 132, and the at least one right outer fixing unit 222 detachably buckles the at least two right fixing units 132.

With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, in the first embodiment, the at least one left outer fixing unit 212 includes one left outer fixing unit 212, and the at least one right outer fixing unit 222 includes one right outer fixing unit 222.

With further reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, when the trench coat is worn by a user, the left covering piece 21 and the right covering piece 22 are adapted to be connected by the second buckling assembly 23 between them, the left-front piece 112 and the right-front piece 113 are adapted to overlap with each other, and the double breasted buttonholes 114 and buttons 115 of the first buckling assembly 110 are adapted to buckle each other. The left outer fixing unit 212 of the left neck covering piece 211 can buckle one of the two left fixing units 131 of the collar 13 and the right outer fixing unit 222 can buckle one of the two right fixing units 133 of the collar 13 according to the user's neck circumference. Therefore, the left neck covering piece 211, the right neck covering piece 221, and a part of the collar 13 form a neckline which fits the user's neck circumference. In addition, a different neckline can be formed by the left outer fixing unit 212 buckling another left fixing unit 131 and the right outer fixing unit 222 buckling another right fixing unit 132, thereby allowing the user to choose a suitable neck circumference to prevent rainwater and cold wind from permeating into the trench coat.

With further reference to FIG. 6, which shows a second embodiment of the present invention, at least one left inner fixing unit 213 is mounted on an inner surface of an edge of the left neck covering piece 211, and at least one right inner fixing unit 223 is mounted on an inner surface of an edge of the left neck covering piece 221.The edge of the left neck covering piece 211 is folded to form a left water-blocking groove 24, and to allow the at least one left inner fixing unit 213 to buckle the at least two left fixing units 131.The edge of the right neck covering piece 221 is folded to form a right water-blocking groove, and to allow the at least one right inner fixing unit 223 to buckle the at least two right fixing units 132. The left water-blocking groove 24 and the right water-blocking groove are formed naturally after the left covering piece 21 and the right covering piece 22 are folded, and are capable of blocking rainwater and guiding the rainwater downward to drain.

With further reference to FIG. 7, which shows another embodiment with different amounts of the fixing units between the collar 13 and the left neck covering piece 211 and the right neck covering piece 221. At least one left fixing unit 131 is mounted on an inner surface of the collar 13 and corresponds in position to the left-front piece 112. At least one right fixing unit 132 is mounted on the inner surface of the collar 13 and corresponds in position to the right-front piece 113. At least two left outer fixing units 212 are mounted on an outer surface of the left neck covering piece 211 and correspond in position to the at least one left fixing unit 131. At least two right outer fixing units 222 are mounted on an outer surface of the right neck covering piece 221 and correspond in position to the at least one right fixing unit 132. The at least two left outer fixing units 212 detachably buckle the at least one left fixing unit 131, and the at least two right outer fixing units 222 detachably buckle the at least one right fixing unit 132. In other words, the one left fixing unit 131 on the left of the inner side of the collar 13 can buckle or detach from one of the two left outer fixing units 212, and the one right fixing unit 132 on the right of the inner side of the collar 13 can buckle or detach from one of the two right outer fixing units 222, thereby both providing a neckline-adjusting function.

With further reference to FIGS. 9 and 10, which show a fourth embodiment of the trench coat. The trench coat further has an adjusting assembly mounted between the left neck covering piece 211 and the inner surface of the collar 13, and between the right neck covering piece 221 and the inner surface of the collar 13. The adjusting assembly has a first left fixing unit 31, a second left fixing unit 32, a first right fixing unit 33, and a second right fixing unit 34. The first left fixing unit 31 is mounted on the left of the inner surface of the collar 13. The first right fixing unit 33 is mounted on the right of the inner surface of the collar 13. The second left fixing unit 32 is mounted on an inner surface of the left neck covering piece 211 and detachably buckles the first left fixing unit 31.The second right fixing unit 34 is mounted on an inner surface of the right neck covering piece 221 and detachably buckles the first right fixing unit 33.

Depending on the thickness of each user's neck, a user can bend the left neck covering piece 211 to buckle the second left fixing unit 32 and the first left fixing unit 31, and bend the right neck covering piece 221 to buckle the second right fixing unit 34 and the first right fixing unit 33. Therefore, the neck circumference can be further adjusted.

The amounts of the first left fixing unit 31, the first right fixing unit 33, the second left fixing unit 32, and the second right fixing unit 34 are changeable as needed.

Further, with reference to FIGS. 9 and 10, in the fourth embodiment, the trench coat further has two fixing lines, the left neck covering piece 211 further has a left fixing segment 214, and the right neck covering piece 221 further has a right fixing segment 224. The left fixing segment 214 is formed on a side, which is away from the right neck covering piece 221, of the left neck covering piece 211. The left fixing segment 214 is fixed to the inner surface of the collar 13, and forms one of the two fixing lines. The right fixing segment 224 is formed on a side, which is away from the left neck covering piece 211, of the right neck covering piece 221. The right fixing segment 224 is fixed to the inner surface of the collar 13, and forms the other one of the two fixing lines.

With further reference to FIG. 11, in the fifth embodiment, the main body 11 further has a first left connecting unit 116 and a first right connecting unit 117. The first left connecting unit 116 is mounted on an inner surface of the main body 11 and located in a left shoulder segment. The first right connecting unit 117 is mounted on the inner surface of the main body 11 and located in a right shoulder segment. The left neck covering piece 211 further has a second left connecting unit 215. The second left connecting unit 215 is mounted on an inner surface of the left neck covering piece 211, and detachably buckles the first left connecting unit 116. The right neck covering piece 221 further has a second right connecting unit 225. The second right connecting unit 225 is mounted on an inner surface of the right neck covering piece 221, and detachably buckles the first right connecting unit 117.

The aforementioned first left connecting unit 116, first right connecting unit 117, second left connecting unit 215, and second right connecting unit 225 can also be replaced by hook-and-loop fasteners, buckles, or any fastening assemblies.

With reference to FIG. 11, as shown by the arrow, the left neck covering piece 211 and the left covering piece 21 are folded leftward to be hidden behind the inner surface of the left-front piece 112 with the left edge 210 as a fold line. The right neck covering piece 221 and the right covering piece 21 are folded rightward to be hidden behind the inner surface of the right-front piece 113 with the right edge 220 as a fold line.

By buckling the second right connecting unit 225 to the first right connecting unit 117, and by buckling the second left connecting unit 215 to the first left connecting unit 116, the left neck covering piece 211, the left covering piece 21, the right neck covering piece 221, and the right covering piece 22 are hidden inside the main body 11 without exposure, thereby offering a different wearing style. In other words, the trench coat of the present invention offers two wearing styles.

Furthermore, the left neck covering piece 211 can also be formed by the left covering piece 21 extending upward, and the right neck covering piece 221 can also be formed by the right covering piece 22 extending upward. In other words, the left neck covering piece 211 and the left covering piece 21 can also be formed integrally, and the right neck covering piece 221 and the right covering piece 22 can also be formed integrally, thereby simplifying the manufacture.

The widths of the left covering piece 21 and the right covering piece 22 can be implemented the same or different, and the widths of the left neck covering piece 211 and the right neck covering piece 221 can also be implemented the same or different. For example, the left covering piece 21 is wider and the right covering piece 22 is narrower, or the right covering piece 22 is wider and the left covering piece 21 is narrower. The widths of the left covering piece 21 and the right covering piece 22 are correlated to each other, and the widths of the left neck covering piece 211 and the right neck covering piece 221 are correlated to each other. In other words, the second buckling assembly 23 is not necessarily to be located exactly in the middle, but can be located relatively on the left or on the right to avoid aligning to the front opening of the collar 13, thereby further preventing rainwater from permeating. Additionally, the difference between the two widths of the left covering piece 21 and the right covering piece 22 can be implemented to the maximum as needed.

The present invention is adapted to be applied to an overcoat, a three-quarter coat, a jacket, or any other wind coats or rain coats.

    • The length of the abovementioned left covering piece 21 and right covering piece 22 can be increased or shortened as needed.

The present invention can be designed for males and females. For example, for males, the left-front piece 112 is located outside and the right-front piece 113 is located inside when overlapping, and for females, the left-front piece 112 is located inside and the right-front piece 113 is located outside when overlapping.

Two bottom ends of the left-front piece 112, and the right-front piece 113 can be mounted with a rainproof shoe cover, or a storage bag for the rainproof shoes cover.

Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and features of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in the details, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
