Claims
- 1. A light emitting accessory for jewelry comprising:
at least one battery; a tube having a first end and a second end; a ballast having a positive lead and a negative lead protruding from one end thereof, a cavity being formed on the other end of said ballast, said cavity being sized to receive said battery, the other end of said positive lead contacting said battery; a light source being connected to said positive and negative leads; a switch cap having a bore formed therein, a spring extending from a bottom of said bore, said switch cap capable of being threaded on to a first end of said tube, wherein rotation of said switch causing electrical current to flow through said light source.
- 2. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 1, further comprising:
a current interrupting device preventing the flow of electrical current to said at least one light emitting device in a periodic fashion, the interruption of current causing said light emitting device to flash.
- 3. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 1, wherein:
at least one tab protruding from a side of said ballast.
- 4. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 3, wherein:
at least one slot being cut into said first end of said tube, said slot being sized to receive said at least one tab, the other end of said negative lead being attached to a top of said at least one tab.
- 5. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 1, further comprising:
a cover being attached to said second end of said tube.
- 6. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 1, further comprising:
a jewel being inserted into a side wall of said tube.
- 7. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 1, further comprising:
a plug having a jewel inserted therein, a bore being formed in said plug, said bore allowing light to reach said jewel, said plug being attachable to a second end of said tube.
- 8. A light emitting accessory for jewelry comprising:
at least one battery; a light assembly having at least one light emitting device, said at least one light emitting device having first and second contacts; a base tube having an external thread formed on an outer diameter thereof, a battery bore being formed in a first end of said base tube to receive said at least one battery, a ballast bore being formed on a second end of said base to receive said light assembly, one of said contacts being a electrically connected to said base tube; an elastic member being disposed between a bottom of said battery bore and said at least one battery; and a switch cap having a threaded bore formed in one end thereof, said threaded bore being threadably engagable with said external thread, wherein rotation of said switch cap causing said at least one battery to make electrical contact with said at least one light emitting device.
- 9. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 8, wherein:
a light tube having at least two inward facing projections formed on a top thereof, a groove being formed around the outer perimeter of said base tube, said groove being sized to receive said at least two inward facing projections.
- 10. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 8, further comprising:
a cover being attached to said second end of said tube.
- 11. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 8, further comprising:
a current interrupting device preventing the flow of electrical current to said at least one light emitting device in a periodic fashion, the interruption of current causing said light emitting device to flash.
- 12. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 8, further comprising:
a jewel being inserted into a side wall of said tube.
- 13. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 8, further comprising:
a plug having a jewel inserted therein, a bore being formed in said plug, said bore allowing light to reach said jewel, said plug being attachable to a second end of said tube.
- 14. A light emitting accessory for jewelry comprising:
at least one battery; a light assembly including an on-off switch and at least one light emitting device, toggling of said on-off switch making an electrical connection between said battery and said at least one light emitting device; and a case including a face member and a back plate, said case retaining said light assembly when said back plate is attached to said face member.
- 15. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 14, further comprising:
a cantilever member being formed in said back plate, a switch projection extending from said cantilever member, said switch projection being disposed adjacent said on-off switch, depressing said cantilever member over said switch projection causing said on-off switch to toggle.
- 16. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 14 wherein:
said face member being fabricated from a clear or translucent material.
- 17. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 14, further comprising:
at least two retention posts being formed in an inner perimeter of said face member, at least two projections extending from said back plate, an opening being formed in each retention post which sized to firmly receive one of said projections.
- 18. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 14, further comprising:
a conductive spring clip being attached to said light assembly and being electrically connected to said at least one light emitting device, said conductive spring clip retaining said battery and making electrical contact therewith.
- 19. The light emitting accessory for jewelry of claim 14, further comprising:
a current interrupting device preventing the flow of electrical current to said at least one light emitting device in a periodic fashion, the interruption of current causing said light emitting device to flash.
