Claims
- 1. A liquid crystal display comprising:a light valve; and a light emitting diode display physically integrated with said light valve.
- 2. The display of claim 1 wherein said light emitting diode display is arranged to develop a write beam for said light valve.
- 3. The display of claim 1 wherein the region between said light valve and said diode display is sealed.
- 4. The display of claim 2 wherein said write beam and a read beam are different beams.
- 5. The display of claim 2 wherein said write beam and a read beam are the same beam.
- 6. The display of claim 1 including a microlens array between said light valve and said diode display.
- 7. The display of claim 1 including a filter between said light valve and said diode display.
- 8. The display of claim 1 wherein said diode display includes a substrate, said diode display emitting light through said substrate.
- 9. The display of claim 1, said diode display including a substrate, said diode display emitting light away from said substrate to said light valve.
- 10. The display of claim 1 wherein said light emitting diode display is an organic light emitting device.
- 11. A liquid crystal display comprising:a light valve; and an integrated organic light emitting diode display formed on said light valve.
- 12. The display claim 11 wherein said light emitting diode display is arranged to develop a write beam for said light valve.
- 13. The display of claim 11 wherein the region between said light valve and said light emitting diode display is sealed.
- 14. The display of claim 12 wherein said write beam and a read beam are different beams.
- 15. The display of claim 12 wherein said write beam and a read beam are the same beam.
- 16. The display of claim 11 including a microlens array between said light valve and said light emitting diode display.
- 17. The display of claim 1 including a filter between said light valve and said light emitting diode display.
- 18. The display of claim 11 wherein said light emitting diode display includes a substrate, said light emitting diode display may emit light through said substrate.
