Claims
- 1. A light-section wire mill including a breaking-down train with a plurality of roll stands and at least one intermediate mill, said light-section wire mill, comprising:
- a finishing block arranged downstream of the intermediate mill for rolling a single-wire or a multi-wire rolling stock having a circular cross section and made of a high grade steel;
- a temper pass block arranged downstream of said finishing block and having at least two roll stand units;
- a common drive assembly for driving said finishing block and said temper pass block and comprising a plurality of D.C. motors, arranged in series between said finishing block and said temper pass block and connected to each other by rigid coupling means;
- at least one of cooling means and temperature equalizing means located between said finishing block and said temper pass block; and
- first and second indexing drives arranged between each of said finishing block and said temper pass block and said drive assembly, respectively, wherein said second indexing drive has a transmission ratio for a standard reduction pass between 22% and 19% and for reduced reduction pass between 17% and 14%, dependent on a diameter of a rolling stock.
- 2. A light-section wire mill as set forth in claim 1, wherein rolls of said finishing block are usable in said temper pass block.
- 3. A light-section wire mill as set forth in claim 1, wherein said finishing block is equipped with at least one of cooling means and temperature equalizing means.
- 4. A light-section wire mill as set forth in claim 1, wherein a distance between said finishing block and said temper pass block beneath the connection between the drives is at least large enough to accommodate a length of the at least one of said cooling means and said equalizing means.
- 5. A light-section wire mill as set forth in claim 1, wherein one of said two roll stand units of said temper pass block is a horizontal stand unit, and another of said two roll stand units is a vertical stand unit, and wherein said second indexing drive has two output shafts for driving the two roll stand units, respectively.
