Claims
- 1. A lightweight snowmobile seat, comprising:
a) a substantially rigid base, configured to be disposed over a track tunnel of a snowmobile, formed of a closed cell foam with cell walls and cell voids such that the base is substantially rigid and light weight; b) a flexible seat section, disposed over at least a portion of the rigid base, formed of an open cell foam and having an upper surface; c) an upper seat cover, covering at least a portion of the flexible seat section; d) a lower seat cover, extending under the rigid base; and e) at least one fastener, disposed between the upper seat cover and the lower seat cover, securing the upper seat cover to the lower seat cover.
- 2. A light-weight snowmobile seat in accordance with claim 1, wherein the at least one fastener includes a zipper formed between the upper seat cover and the lower seat cover.
- 3. A light-weight snowmobile seat in accordance with claim 1, wherein the upper seat cover and the lower seat cover form at least a portion of a cover that completely surrounds the rigid base and the flexible seat section.
- 4. A light-weight snowmobile seat, comprising:
a) a substantially rigid base, configured to be disposed over an upper surface of a track tunnel of a snowmobile, formed of a closed cell foam with cell walls and cell voids such that the base is substantially rigid and light weight; b) a flexible seat section, disposed over at least a portion of the rigid base, formed of an open cell foam and having an upper surface; c) an upper seat cover, covering at least the flexible seat section, including a water resistant material configured to resist absorption of water by the open cell foam of the flexible seat section; and d) a lower seat cover, extending under the rigid base; and e) at least one fastener, disposed between the upper seat cover and the lower seat cover, securing the upper seat cover to the lower seat cover.
- 5. A light-weight snowmobile seat in accordance with claim 4, wherein the at least one fastener includes a zipper formed between the upper seat cover and the lower seat cover.
- 6. A light-weight snowmobile seat in accordance with claim 4, wherein the upper seat cover and the lower seat cover form at least a portion of a cover that entirely surrounds the rigid base and the flexible seat section.
