Claims
- 1. A lighting lens comprising:
- (a) light transmissive plate having a first side and a second side, an optical center point, and an optical edge,
- (b) a multiplicity of first lenticules, each having a centerline and a first aspherical contour with a continuous, monotonically decreasing curvature from the centerline of the lenticule, formed on the first side of the plate, and
- (c) a multiplicity of second lenticules each having a second contour formed on the first side of the plate and intermixed with the first lenticules.
- 2. The lens apparatus in claim 1, wherein the intermixed first lenticules and second lenticules are arranged randomly.
- 3. The lens apparatus in claim 1, wherein the intermixed first lenticules and second lenticules are arranged in a regular pattern.
- 4. The lens apparatus in claim 1, wherein the second lenticules are have spherical contours.
- 5. The lens apparatus in claim 1, wherein the second lenticules have a continuous, monotonically decreasing curvature from the lenticule center.
- 6. The lens apparatus in claim 5, wherein the first lenticules have a paraboloidal form.
- 7. The lens apparatus in claim 6, wherein the first lenticules have a first paraboloidal form, and the second lenticules have a second paraboloidal form.
- 8. A lighting lens comprising:
- (a) light transmissive plate having a first side and a second side, and an optical edge,
- (b) a multiplicity of first lenticules, having a centerline and an aspherical form with a continuous, monitonically decreasing curvature from the centerline of the lenticule, formed on and evenly distributed across the first side of the plate, and
- (c) a multiplicity of second lenticules having a paraboloidal form evenly distributed across the first side of the plate and intermixed with the first lenticules.
- 9. A electric lamp for lighting an area comprising:
- (a) a reflector body including a housing defining an included cavity with a reflective surface facing the included cavity,
- (b) means for generating light from electric energy positioned in the included cavity, and
- (c) a lighting lens positioned across the cavity opening having a
- (i) a light transmissive plate having a first side and a second side, and an optical edge,
- (ii) a multiplicity of first lenticules, having a centerline and an aspherical form with a continuous, monitonically decreasing curvature from the centerline of the lenticule, formed on and evenly distributed across the first side of the plate, and
- (iii) a multiplicity of second lenticules having a paraboloidal form evenly distributed across the first side of the plate and intermixed with the first lenticules.
- 10. The electric lamp apparatus in claim 9, wherein the first lenticules and second lenticules are intermixed in a regular pattern.
- 11. The electric lamp apparatus in claim 10, wherein the intermixed first lenticules and second lenticules are arranged randomly.
- 12. The electric lamp apparatus in claim 10, wherein the second lenticules have a spherical contour.
- 13. The electric lamp in claim 10, wherein the second lenticules have a continuous, monotonically decreasing curvature from the lenticule center.
- 14. The electric lamp in claim 10, wherein the first lenticules have a paraboloidal form.
- 15. The electric lamp in claim 10, wherein the first lenticules have a first paraboloidal form, and the second lenticules have a second paraboloidal form.
- 16. A electric lamp for lighting an area comprising:
- (a) a reflector body including a housing defining an included cavity with a reflective surface facing the included cavity,
- (b) means for generating light from electric energy positioned in the included cavity, and
- (c) a lighting lens positioned across the cavity opening having a
- (i) light transmissive plate having a first side and a second side, and an optical edge,
- (ii) a multiplicity of first lenticules, having a spherical form, formed on and evenly distributed across the first side of the plate, and
- (iii) a multiplicity of second lenticules having a paraboloidal form formed on and evenly distributed across the first side of the plate to intermix in a regular pattern with the first lenticules.
