Claims
- 1. A link information maintenance and management method using a server and a client coupled to said server, said method comprising the steps of:a) in said server, storing old area information concerning a first area including a closed area, attribute information correlated with said old area information, and old link information indicative of a correspondence relationship between said old area information and said attribute information; b) in said client, storing new area information concerning a second area including a closed area; c) in said client, displaying said first area and said second area in accordance with said old area information received from said server and said new area information, respectively, and obtaining position information of a predetermined number of corresponding points indicative of the same positions instructed on said first area and said second area through an input device; d) in said server, translating said old area information by using said position information received from said client, and judging similarity between the closed area of said translated old area information and the closed area of said new area information; e) in said server, generating new link information correlating said new area information and said attribute information based on said similarity judgment in step d) and said old link information; f) in said client, storing said generated new link information received from said server; and g) in said client, displaying said attribute information received from said server and said closed area on said second area by using said generated new link information.
- 2. A link information maintenance and management method, comprising the steps of:a) storing old area information concerning a first area including a closed area, attribute information correlated with said old area information, new area information concerning a second area including a closed area, and old link information indicative of a correspondence relationship between said old area information and said attribute information; b) displaying said first area and said second area in accordance with said old area information and said new area information, respectively; c) obtaining position information of a predetermined number of corresponding points indicative of the same positions instructed on said first area and said second area through an input device; d) translating said old area information by using said position information, and judging similarity between the closed area of said translated old area information and the closed area of said new area information; e) indicating the closed area of said new area information in a predetermined manner based on said similarity judgment in step d); f) repeating said steps c), d) and e), if said similarity judgment is negative; g) generating new link information correlating said new area information and said attribute information based on said similarity judgment in step d) and said old link information; and h) displaying said attribute information received from said server and said closed area on said second area by using said generated new link information.
- 3. A link information maintenance and management method, comprising the steps of:a) storing old area information concerning a first area including a closed area, attribute information correlated with said old area information, new area information concerning a second area including a closed area, and old link information indicative of a correspondence relationship between said old area information and said attribute information; b) displaying said first area and said second area in accordance with said old area information and said new area information, respectively, and obtaining correspondence information indicative of the same areas instructed on said first area and said second area through an input device; c) generating new link information correlating said new area information and said attribute information based on said correspondence information in step b) and said old link information; and d) displaying said attribute information and said closed area on said second area by using said generated new link information.

This is a continuation application of U.S. Ser. No. 09/072,453, filed May 5, 1998, now U.S. Pat. No. 6,169,995 which is a Continuation-in-part application of U.S. Ser. No. 08/405,987, filed on Mar. 17, 1995 (now U.S. Pat. No. 5,857,199) and assigned to the present assignee. The disclosure of that application is incorporated herein by reference.
