- 5. The improvement of claim 4, wherein said single cannula shaft is mounted to a handpiece, said handpiece being operatively connected to said means for driving said shaft.
- 6. The improvement of claim 4, wherein said shaft has a distal end for aspirating fluid material through said shaft.
- 7. The improvement of claim 4, wherein one end of said shaft is mounted in a handpiece, and wherein said handpiece includes a swan neck formation.
- 8. The improvement of claim 4, wherein said shaft is provided with a tube within the cannula shaft for delivering fluid to the distal end of said shaft.
- 9. The improvement of claim 4, wherein said shaft is hollow, has a distal end selected from the group consisting of curved and beveled configurations, and an opening adjacent said distal end.
- 10. The improvement of claim 9, wherein said hollow shaft is provided with means for directing fluid to a distal end thereof.
- 11. The improvement of claim 9, wherein said hollow shaft is provided with means for producing ultrasonic energy at the distal end thereof.
- 12. The improvement of claim 4, wherein said means for driving said shaft includes an electric motor.
- 13. A liposuction device, comprising:a handpiece, a cannula shaft operatively connected to said handpiece, a motor located in said handpiece and operatively connected to said cannula shaft for generating non-rectilinear rotational oscillation motion at a distal end of said cannula shaft, suction means operatively connected to reciprocate said shaft and for aspirating fluid material through said shaft.
