Claims
- 1. A liquid crystal display cell spacer produced by dispersing surface-coated carbon black uniformly in a polymer particle, which is produced by dispersing surface-coated carbon black uniformly in a polymerizable monomer and subjecting the dispersion to a polymerization reaction.
- 2. The liquid crystal display cell spacer of claim 1 wherein the amount of surface-coated carbon is 0.1 to 200 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the polymerizable monomer.
- 3. The liquid crystal display cell spacer of claim 1 wherein the dispersion also comprises a dispersing agent.
- 4. The liquid crystal display cell spacer of claim 1 having a mean particle diameter of 0.5 to 500 μm.
- 5. The liquid crystal display cell spacer of claim 1 having a coefficient of variation of particle size not greater than 20%.
- 6. The liquid crystal display cell spacer of claim 1 having a coefficient of variation of particle size not greater than 5%.
- 7. A liquid crystal display cell spacer produced by dispersing a color component consisting of surface-coated carbon black and at least one set of organic dyes of dissimilar colors other than carbon black uniformly in a polymer particle, which is produced by dispersing a color component consisting of surface-coated carbon black and at least one set of organic dyes of dissimilar colors other than carbon black uniformly in a polymerizable monomer and subjecting the dispersion to a polymerization reaction.
