Claims
- 1. A liquid dosage dispenser comprising a bottle for containing a liquid, said bottle having an open neck, a dispenser apparatus supported on said neck having a housing extending into said bottle and a plunger device extending into said housing for longitudinal movement therein, said housing having an opening through which liquid in said bottle can be drawn into said housing, said housing having a helical channel and at least one vertical channel on an inner surface thereof, said at least one vertical channel being positioned to correspond to a preselected amount of liquid to be drawn into said housing, said plunger device including a through passageway for permitting the flow of liquid in said plunger device and a follower for engaging said helical channel, said plunger device being rotatable with respect to said housing to permit said follower to ride in said helical channel to move said plunger device longitudinally along said housing to draw a preselected amount of liquid through said opening into said housing, said plunger device being movable in a reverse longitudinal direction when said follower is positioned in said at least one vertical channel to expel liquid in the housing through said passageway and out of said dispenser apparatus.
- 2. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 1, further comprising at least one indent provided at a position along said helical channel and said at least one vertical channel corresponding to a preselected amount of liquid to be drawn into said housing, whereby a perceptible indication that the preselected amount of liquid has been drawn into said housing is produced when said follower encounters said indent.
- 3. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 1, further comprising valve means for controlling flow of liquid from said bottle into said housing and from said housing out of said housing.
- 4. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 3, wherein said valve means includes a one-way valve in said opening of said housing and a one-way valve in said plunger device.
- 5. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a removable cap adapted to communicate rotational movement to said plunger device.
- 6. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 5, wherein said cap includes indicia means for indicating each displacement of said plunger device representing the amount of liquid drawn into said housing and available to be dispensed.
- 7. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 6, wherein the cap includes a slot for receiving a plunger indicator extending from said plunger device for indicating the amount of liquid drawn into said housing and available to be dispensed.
- 8. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plunger device includes a nozzle formed in fluid communication with said through passageway.
- 9. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plunger device includes a seal at a first end thereof adapted to ride against said inner surface of said housing, said seal having an opening to permit liquid to be drawn into said housing from said bottle when said plunger device rises in said housing.
- 10. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 1, wherein said plunger device includes a panel at a second end thereof for facilitating application of reverse longitudinal force on said plunger device to dispense liquid.
- 11. A liquid dosage dispenser comprising a bottle for containing a liquid, said bottle having an open neck, a cap rotatably supported on said neck, a dispenser apparatus supported on said neck, said dispenser apparatus having a sleeve extending into said bottle and a plunger device extending into said sleeve for longitudinal movement therein, said sleeve having an opening through which liquid in said bottle can be drawn into said sleeve, said sleeve having a helical channel and at least one vertical channel on an inner surface thereof, said at least one vertical channel being positioned to correspond to a preselected amount of liquid to be drawn into said sleeve, said plunger device including a through passageway for permitting the flow of liquid in said plunger device and a follower for engaging said helical channel, said cap and said plunger device adapted to translate rotational movement of said cap to said plunger device with respect to said sleeve to permit said follower to ride in said helical channel to move said plunger device longitudinally along said sleeve to draw a preselected amount of liquid through said opening into said sleeve, said plunger device being movable in a reverse longitudinal direction when said follower is positioned in said at least one vertical channel to expel liquid in the sleeve through said passageway and out of said dispenser apparatus.
- 12. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 11, wherein said cap has an inner surface having at least one cap guide, and said plunger device has a plunger guide extending therefrom, said plunger guide having at least one channel for slidably engaging said at least one cap guide.
- 13. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 11, wherein said cap includes indicia means for indicating each displacement of said plunger device representing the amount of liquid drawn into said sleeve and available to be dispensed.
- 14. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 13, wherein said cap includes a slot for receiving a plunger indicator extending from said plunger device for indicating the amount of liquid drawn into said sleeve and available to be dispensed.
- 15. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 11, further comprising at least one indent provided at a position along said helical channel and said at least one vertical channel corresponding to a preselected amount of liquid to be drawn into said sleeve, whereby a perceptible indication that the preselected amount of liquid has been drawn into said sleeve is produced when said follower encounters said indent.
- 16. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 11, further comprising valve means for controlling flow of liquid from said bottle into said sleeve and from said sleeve out of said sleeve.
- 17. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 16, wherein said valve means includes a one-way valve in said opening of said sleeve and a one-way valve in said plunger device.
- 18. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 11, wherein said plunger device includes a nozzle formed in fluid communication with said through passageway.
- 19. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 11, wherein said plunger device includes a seal at a first end thereof adapted to ride against said inner surface of said sleeve, said seal having an opening to permit liquid to be drawn into said sleeve from said bottle when said plunger device rises in said sleeve.
- 20. The liquid dosage dispenser as claimed in claim 11, wherein said plunger device includes a panel at a second end thereof for facilitating application of reverse longitudinal force on said plunger device to dispense liquid.
