Claims
- 1. A locating device, comprising in combination:hinge assembly portions; an annular door hinge metal washer for said hinge assembly portions to facilitate doors-off/doors-on processing through an automotive trim shop; a heat-curable adhesive bonding composition pre-applied to a first major surface of said annular door hinge metal washer; and said heat-curable adhesive bonding composition being cured to bond said first major surface of said annular door hinge metal washer to a predetermined portion of said hinge assembly portions when said first major surface of said annular door hinge metal washer with said pre-applied heat-curable adhesive bonding composition is brought into intimate contact with said predetermined portion of said hinge assembly portions and is subjected to a predetermined heating until said pre-applied heat-curable adhesive composition cures to bond said first major surface of said annular door hinge metal washer and said predetermined portion of said hinge assembly portions together, whereby said locating device serves as a locating door hinge washer device for said hinge assembly portions.
- 2. The device according to claim 1, wherein:said heat-curable adhesive bonding composition is resistant to phosphating solutions.
- 3. The device according to claim 2, wherein:said heat-curable adhesive bonding composition is compatible with cathodic electro-coating.
- 4. The device according to claim 3, wherein:said heat-curable adhesive bonding composition is curable by a predetermined cathodic electro-coat primer baking thereof.
- 5. The device according to claim 4, wherein:said pre-applied heat-curable adhesive bonding composition comprises an epoxy annulus having predetermined dimensions to be concentric with said annular metal washer, but not coterminous therewith, and forming at least two predetermined annular spaces on said first metal surface of said annular metal washer, each said annular space being dimensioned to permit said epoxy to spread therein during curing thereof without running over any edge of said metal annular washer.
- 6. The device according to claim 3, wherein:said pre-applied heat-curable adhesive bonding composition comprises an epoxy annulus having predetermined dimensions to be concentric with said annular metal washer, but not coterminous therewith, and forming at least two predetermined annular spaces on said first metal surface of said annular metal washer, each said annular space being dimensioned to permit said epoxy to spread therein during curing thereof without running over any edge of said metal annular washer.
- 7. The device according to claim 1, wherein:said heat-curable adhesive bonding composition is curable by a predetermined cathodic electro-coat primer baking thereof.
- 8. The device according to claim 7, wherein:said pre-applied heat-curable adhesive bonding composition comprises an epoxy annulus having predetermined dimensions to be concentric with said annular metal washer, but not coterminous therewith, and forming at least two predetermined annular spaces on said first metal surface of said annular metal washer, each said annular space being dimensioned to permit said epoxy to spread therein during curing thereof without running over any edge of said metal annular washer.
- 9. The device according to claim 2, wherein:said pre-applied heat-curable adhesive bonding composition comprises an epoxy annulus having predetermined dimensions to be concentric with said annular metal washer, but not coterminous therewith, and forming at least two predetermined annular spaces on said first metal surface of said annular metal washer, each said annular space being dimensioned to permit said epoxy to spread therein during curing thereof without running over any edge of said metal annular washer.
- 10. The device according to claim 1, wherein:said heat-curable adhesive bonding composition is compatible with cathodic electro-coating.
- 11. The device according to claim 10, wherein:said heat-curable adhesive bonding composition is curable by a predetermined cathodic electro-coat primer baking thereof.
- 12. The device according to claim 11, wherein:said pre-applied heat-curable adhesive bonding composition comprises an epoxy annulus having predetermined dimensions to be concentric with said annular metal washer, but not coterminous therewith, and forming at least two predetermined annular spaces on said first metal surface of said annular metal washer, each said annular space being dimensioned to permit said epoxy to spread therein during curing thereof without running over any edge of said metal annular washer.
- 13. The device according to claim 10, wherein:said pre-applied heat-curable adhesive bonding composition comprises an epoxy annulus having predetermined dimensions to be concentric with said annular metal washer, but not coterminous therewith, and forming at least two predetermined annular spaces on said first metal surface of said annular metal washer, each said annular space being dimensioned to permit said epoxy to spread therein during curing thereof without running over any edge of said metal annular washer.
- 14. The device according to claim 1, wherein:said heat-curable adhesive bonding composition is curable by a predetermined cathodic electro-coat primer baking thereof.
- 15. The device according to claim 14, wherein:said pre-applied heat-curable adhesive bonding composition comprises an epoxy annulus having predetermined dimensions to be concentric with said annular metal washer, but not coterminous therewith, and forming at least two predetermined annular spaces on said first metal surface of said annular metal washer, each said annular space being dimensioned to permit said epoxy to spread therein during curing thereof without running over any edge of said metal annular washer.
- 16. The device according to claim 1, wherein:said pre-applied heat-curable adhesive bonding composition comprises an epoxy annulus having predetermined dimensions to be concentric with said annular metal washer, but not coterminous therewith, and forming at least two predetermined annular spaces on said first metal surface of said annular metal washer, each said annular space being dimensioned to permit said epoxy to spread therein during curing thereof without running over any edge of said metal annular washer.
