Claims
- 1. A densified batting structure comprising a batting of linear and non-linear first carbonaceous fibers having an LOI value greater than 40, a reversible deflection ratio greater than 1.2:1 and an aspect ratio greater than 10:1 and a substantially permanently heat set non-flammable second carbonaceous fiber densifying said batting and locking said batting into a densified structure.
- 2. The structure of claim 1 wherein said second carbonaceous fiber has a higher denier than said first carbonaceous fibers.
- 3. The structure of claim 1 wherein said first and second carbonaceous fibers have a nitrogen content of about 16 to 20%.
- 4. The structure of claim 1 wherein said second carbonaceous fibers are different from said first carbonaceous fibers.
- 5. A densified batting structure comprising a batting of non-linear first carbonaceous fibers having a reversible deflection ratio greater than 1.2:1 and an aspect ratio greater than 10:1 and a heat set second carbonaceous fiber densifying said batting and locking said batting into a densified structure.
