Claims
- 1. In a method of processing logs, including the steps of:
- a. advancing a plurality of logs in a first predetermined direction along a path transverse to the longitudinal axis of said logs;
- b. segregating said logs, during the advancing of the logs in the transverse path, according to size;
- c. advancing first segregated ones of said logs in a second direction along a path parallel to the longitudinal axis of said logs;
- d. advancing second ones of said segregated logs in said first predetermined direction;
- e. severing said second ones of said segregated logs substantially simultaneously at a plurality of special locations after the same have been segregated and advanced after segregation; and
- f. advancing said severed logs in said second predetermined direction.
- 2. In a method of processing logs as defined in claim 1 including a further step of: stacking said severed logs on a support means in a prearranged pattern.
- 3. In a method of processing logs as defined in claim 1 including the further steps of stopping said first ones of said segregated logs at a predetermined location and severing said first ones of said segregated logs at a predetermined point.
- 4. In a method of processing logs as defined in claim 3 including the further steps of ejecting certain ones of said severed first segregated logs in a direction opposite said first predetermined direction and ejecting certain other ones of said severed first segregated logs in said first predetermined direction.
