Claims
- 1. In a novelty yarn comprising an inelastic untwisted core thread and inelastic effect and binder threads, the yarn having "thick" loop chenille sections and "thin" non-looped sections alternating along the length of the yarn, the thick sections including a multiplicity of loops of effect thread twisted about the untwisted core thread and including binder thread twisted about the core and effect threads, binder thread twist direction being opposite from effect thread twist direction, the thin sections including a multiplicity of twists of a non-looped effect thread twisted about the core thread and including binder thread twisted about the core and effect threads, binder thread twist direction being opposite from effect thread twist direction.
- 2. In a novelty yarn of the type comprising core, effect, and binder threads, the combination comprising "thick" and "thin" yarn portions alternating along the length of the yarn, the "thick" portions including loops of effect thread laid along the untwisted core thread, the core and effect threads existing in separate fashion alongside each other without being plied or twisted together and binder thread wrapped about the untwisted core and effect threads, the "thin" portions including substantially non-looped effect thread disposed alongside and substantially parallel with the core thread, the core and effect threads being untwisted, the binder thread being twisted about the core and effect threads.
- 3. In a loop chenille novelty yarn of the type comprising an inelastic untwisted core thread, a binder thread and an effect thread, the combination comprising said effect thread formed as loops of effect thread laid along the untwisted core thread, the core thread and said effect thread existing in separate fashion alongside each other without being plied or twisted together with said loops of said effect thread extending radially in a plurality of different positions along and around the core thread, with said binder thread being wrapped about the untwisted core thread and said looped effect thread.
