Abstract
A boxing training accessory comprising an elongated punching stick that has an inner core that is surrounded by a compressible member and is attached to a wall mounting bracket or directly to a hooks that are attached to a wall and floor. The accessory provides a more specific martial artist training accessory to practice low kicks, also called leg kicks. The training accessory is useful across a range of combat sports including kickboxing, muay thai, karate, taekwondo, mma and others.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the invention

The present invention belongs to the technical field of the fitness equipment and in particular to a variety of different martial art training accessories (aids) that are intended for use as a martial artist target.


Background

Martial art sports require a high degree of physical training. Reaction time is of paramount importance in all martial art forms. As a result, the participants in these sports require a means of maintaining and improving the associated physical skills. One of the most effective punches that a martial artist must learn is called a low kick, also known as a leg kick, it is a kick in which the attacker uses his/her leg to strike opponents lower body with the shinbone or foot. This type of kick is utilized in numerous full contact martial arts such as Kickboxing, Karate, Muay Thai, Taekwondo and many other.


In the past, martial artists generally practiced to improve these kicks and reaction timing skills by punching heavy boxing bags or other types of passive targets. Practicing on heavy boxing bags or other passive targets, martial artists can insure themselves, more specifically their legs and joints. And after practicing for years, these injuries can become the chronic pain spots at older age. Alternatively, boxers practicing their skills by sparring against another fighter. The most difficult part of sparring is to give the boxer a realistic workout, without risking injury to the boxer or the sparring partner.


The present invention provides a martial arts training equipment, that is a kind of elongated and round punching stick, that is attached to a wall mounted bracket or directly to a wall and floor mounted hooks.


The foregoing examples of the related art and limitations related therewith are intended to be illustrative and not exclusive. Other limitations of the related art will become apparent to those skilled in the art upon a reading of the specifications and a study of the drawings.


BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An object of the present invention is to provide a new and improved training accessory for martial artists in all martial arts, more specifically boxer's target practicing equipment.


Another object of the present invention is to provide a new and improved training accessory which can be utilized by a martial artist to sharpen his/her accuracy, timing and strength of the leg kicks to the opponents lower body.


Still another object of the present invention is to provide a new and improved training accessory which is easily attachable to the wall mounted bracket, desired hight can be chosen by the user for both attachment methods.


A further object of the present invention is to provide a new and improved training accessory that is safe to be used by all martial arts enthusiasts and helping to reduce injuries occurring during training sessions.


The training accessory of the present invention is constructed as follows: elongated and round punching stick, that is approximately 3-4 feet long and is attached to a wall mounted bracket or directly to a wall and floor mounted hooks.


The elongated punching stick would have an inner core member that is hollow inside and made of plastic or rubber or other solid and elastic material. There would be an elastic rubber string inside the hollow inner core member. The rubber string would have hooks attached on both ends to help to keep the boxing stick in place when it is attached to a wall mounted bracket.


The inner core member would be covered by a layer of cushiony material which is overlaid with leather or other durable material. The wall mounted bracket would be made of metal or other durable material and is attached to a wall by bolts or other attachment method.


The following embodiments and aspects thereof are described and illustrated conjunction with systems, tools and methods which are meant to be exemplary and illustrative and not limiting in scope. In various embodiments one or more of the above described problems have been reduced or eliminated while other embodiments are directed to other improvements. In addition to the exemplary aspects and embodiments described above, further aspects and embodiments will become apparent by the drawings and by study of the following description.

Referring now to the drawing, FIGS. 1 illustrates a training accessory, generally referenced at numeral 10. The training accessory 10 consists of elongated punching stick 12 that is covered with leather or similar material. The punching stick 12 has hooks 14 on both ends that are attached to a metal loops 18 that are part of a wall mounting bracket 16. The wall mounting bracket 16 is attached to a wall 22 by bolts 20.


While the exemplary aspect and embodiment have been discussed above, those of skill in the art will recognize certain modifications, permutations and additions and sub combinations thereof It is therefore intended that the following appended claims and claims herein after introduced are interpreted to include all such modifications, permutations, additions and subcombinations that are within their true spirit and scope.

Claims
  • 1. A training accessory for use in martial arts comprising: an elongated punching stick including a first end and an opposite second end; the elongated punching stick having a rigid inner core member; a compressible member that surrounds the inner core member; and has an outer cover that surrounds the compressible member; a attachment devices on both ends of the training accessory;
  • 2. The training accessory of claim 1, further comprising an attachment method to the wall-mounting bracket or frame; a training accessory is attached to a wall-mounting bracket with a fastened hooks that are attached to both ends of said punching stick.
