Claims
- 1-20. (Canceled).
- 21. A controller for a DC motor, the controller comprising:
a magnetic field sensing device that provides an output signal based upon an imposed magnetic field from a rotor magnet of the DC motor; a drive circuit, coupled with the sensing device, and having first and second terminals connected with a voltage supply through first and second motor coils, respectively, and a ground terminal connected with ground; and a voltage regulator, coupled to the sensing device and the drive circuit, for supplying a stabilized voltage to the sensing device; wherein the drive circuit operates to provide a voltage to the voltage regulator from the first and second terminals.
- 22. The controller of claim 21, wherein the voltage is provided to the voltage regulator through each of the first and second terminals in anti-phase when the voltage at the respective terminal is high.
- 23. The controller of claim 21, wherein the drive circuit includes an inverter coupled with one of said first and second terminals.
- 24. The controller of claim 21, wherein the drive circuit includes a pair of transistors, each coupled to one of said first and second terminals.
- 25. The controller of claim 24, wherein the voltage is provided to the voltage regulator from the voltage supply through each of the first and second terminals when the corresponding transistor is in an off state.
- 26. The controller of claim 25, wherein the transistor is set to an off state based on a state of the output signal.
- 27. The controller of claim 21, wherein the voltage regulator supplies a stabilized voltage to the drive circuit and wherein the drive circuit operates to drive the DC motor.
- 28. The controller of claim 21, wherein the drive circuit further includes a switching circuit configured to electrically couple the voltage regulator with each voltage terminal in anti-phase when the voltage at the respective voltage terminal is high.
- 29. A controller for a DC motor, the controller comprising:
a magnetic field sensing device that provides an output signal based upon an imposed magnetic field from a rotor magnet of the DC motor; a drive circuit, coupled with the sensing device, and having a ground terminal connected with ground, a first transistor coupled to a first terminal, and a second transistor coupled to a second terminal, wherein each of said first and second terminals is coupled to a voltage supply through a separate motor coil; and a voltage regulator coupled to the sensing device and the drive circuit, for supplying a stabilized voltage to the sensing device; wherein the drive circuit operates to provide a voltage to the voltage regulator from the first and second terminals.
- 30. The controller of claim 29, wherein the voltage is alternately provided to the voltage regulator through each of the first and second terminals when the corresponding transistor is in an off state.
- 31. The controller of claim 30, wherein each transistor is set to an off state based on a state of the output signal.
- 32. The controller of claim 30, wherein the drive circuit further includes a switching circuit configured to alternately couple the voltage regulator with each of the first and second terminals when the corresponding transistor is in the off state.
- 33. The controller of claim 29, wherein the controller is a package having only three external connection terminals.
- 34. The controller of claim 29,wherein the drive circuit includes an inverter coupled with one of said transistors.
