Claims
- 1. A vacuum cleaner comprising:
a housing; a top and bottom cover of said housing; said bottom cover having a belt storage compartment for storage of a replacement belt.
- 2. The vacuum cleaner of claim 1 wherein the belt storage compartment includes means for storing the replacement belt in a released position.
- 3. The vacuum cleaner of claim 1 wherein the belt storage compartment comprises at least one belt mounting nub for facilitating the wrapping of the replacement belt.
- 4. The vacuum cleaner of claim 3 wherein the at least one belt mounting nub is dimensioned so as to provide relatively constant width channels between the belt mounting nub and the walls of the belt storage compartment.
- 5. The vacuum cleaner of claim 4 wherein the channels are slightly wider than the thickness of the replacement belt.
- 6. The vacuum cleaner of claim 1 wherein the belt storage compartment comprises a friction apparatus extending outward from a wall of the belt storage compartment.
- 7. The vacuum cleaner of claim 6 wherein the friction apparatus comprises a convex wall and a concave wall that intersect at a tip.
- 8. The vacuum cleaner of claim 7 wherein the belt storage compartment comprises:
a long radius wall; and wherein the tip of the friction finger is adjacent to a midpoint of the long radius wall.
- 9. The vacuum cleaner of claim 8 wherein the tip and the midpoint of the long radius wall further form a space between the tip and the long radius wall slightly larger than two thicknesses of the replacement belt.
- 10. The vacuum cleaner of claim 1 wherein the belt storage compartment comprises:
a long radius wall; a short radius wall; and sweeping radius end walls connecting the long and short walls.
- 11. A method for storing a replacement belt in a vacuum cleaner comprising the steps of:
forming a storage compartment in a bottom cover of a housing; said storage compartment is adapted to receive said belt in a relaxed position.
- 12. The method of claim 11 further comprising the step of forming nubs in said compartment for facilitating the wrapping of the replacement belt.
- 13. The method of claim 11 further comprising the step of forming a friction apparatus in said compartment.
- 14. The method of claim 13 wherein the step of forming a friction apparatus comprises the steps of:
forming a convex wall; forming a convex wall; and wherein said convex and concave walls intersect at a tip.
- 15. The method of claim 11 wherein the step of forming a storage compartment comprises the steps of:
forming a long radius wall; forming a short radius wall; and forming sweeping radius end walls connecting the long and short walls.
