Claims
- 1. A golf bag stand system comprising:
- a pair of legs pivotably coupled to a top bracket thereby allowing the pair of legs to be moved between
- (1) an operative position in which the pair of legs are extended from the golf bag to engage the ground and wherein the pair of legs in connection with the golf bag form a tripod for supporting the golf bag at a predetermined angle, and
- (2) an inoperative position in which the pair of legs are retracted and located substantially adjacent to the golf bag and substantially parallel to each other; and
- a pair of femurs each configured to be attached to a top portion of a leg of the pair of legs, each femur of the pair of femurs having a substantially flat inner surface that hinders crossing of the pair of legs when the pair of legs are moved into the inoperative position by serving as a point of contact between the pair of femurs when the pair of legs are moved into the inoperative.
- 2. The golf bag stand system of claim 1, further comprising:
- a bottom bracket for coupling to a bottom portion of the golf bag;
- a spring mechanism slidably coupled through the bottom bracket and running longitudinally to the golf bag behind the pair of legs, the spring mechanism pivotably engaging the pair of legs, wherein actuation of the spring mechanism moves the pair of legs from said inoperative position to said operative position; and
- a foot plate pivotably mounted to the spring mechanism, the foot plate having a contact point with the ground for actuating the spring mechanism, the contact point being located behind the plane of the pair of legs.
- 3. The golf bag stand system of claim 2, further comprising a double clip coupled to the spring mechanism, the double clip providing tensioning and separation in the spring mechanism.
- 4. The golf bag stand system of claim 3, wherein the spring mechanism comprises a wire form, and wherein the double clip is held in place by a deformity in the wire form.
- 5. A golf bag stand comprising:
- a bracket configured to be attached to a top portion of a golf bag;
- a pair of legs pivotably coupled to the bracket;
- a wire form engaging the legs to urge the pair of legs between an operative position and an inoperative position, in the operative position the pair of legs are extended to form a tripod in connection with a golf bag to support the golf bag at a predetermined angle, and in the inoperative position the pair of legs are retracted and located substantially adjacent to the golf bag and to each other and positioned substantially parallel to each other; and
- a pair of femurs attached to the pair of legs, each femur of the pair of femurs having a substantially flat inner surface, the substantially flat inner surfaces contacting each other when the pair of legs are moved into the inoperative position and preventing the pair of legs from crossing.
- 6. The golf bag stand of claim 5, further including a double clip mounted on the wire form, the double clip creating tension in the wire form to urge the pair of legs into the retracted position.
- 7. The golf bag stand of claim 6, wherein the double clip is held in place by a deformity in the wire form.
